Greetings, my very first post at this forum.

For Valentine's Day this year Oscar Pistorius shoots his girlfriend. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-21459240

It sounds like it was an accident, however, apparently there had been disturbances of a domestic nature at his house before. So, maybe he's not the angel the media had made him out to be.

I can't get it how it was an accident, surely his gf would cry when shot, meanwhile he shot her 4 times, doesn't sounds like accident at all. Maybe I have flawed logic, but anyway can't see it as an accident for now.

The prior domestic disturbances are definitely a red flag for me. Knowing today's tabloid-like media, though, I think I'll just wait and see what details come out. There's no question Pistorius is in deep doo-doo, Id' say his career is pretty much over.

Welcome, Tricycle. Kind of a strange first post to make on a cycling forum, but what the hell.....;)

Looks like they've got him bang to rights. He hasn't got a leg to stand on.

Not so witty when you simply plagiarize from another thread.

Come on, ALL the jokes have already been made. No big deal.

(Although it's probably a sign that people should stop with the puns already )

There were so many posted in the other thread that people are stumped for new ones.

Could not think of something yourself, huh? That is what I expected.

Every one liner you post is original, huh?

Your attitude reeks of utter hypocrisy.

(My last word, before you derail the topic.)

Another in the long list of disgraced Nike athletes. Tiger Woods, Michael Vick, Alex Rodriguez, Justin Gatlin, Marion Jones (is she out of prison yet?), the Joe Paterno Child Development Center on their campus. There was also some cyclist they sponsored that turned out to be a loser. Probably more.

You have a history of unoriginal thinking and cannot stand others who think for themselves, so it was not huge surprise that you could not think of anything to write.

Don't give up, little camper. There is still the opportunity to turn this thread into a political diatribe about guns and attack those whose thoughts you do not think are liberally pure enough.

Thank you. I actually lurk at The Clinic quite a bit, but seeing as I think nearly every elite athlete dopes in one way or another I don't really have all that much to add in terms of posting.

Btw., I sense some sort of a lack of harmony between you and BroDeal. :p

I actually live in Eugene, OR, Nike university (U of Oregon) is not that far away from me. I don't have much love for Nike, about twelve years ago when the students protested Nike's use of sweatshops sugar daddy Phil Knight cut off his donations to the U until the students learned to behave themselves. Also, I'm a Washington Husky, so that's another reason (albeit a minor one) I dislike the U of Oregon and Nike.

Back on topic, according to Deadspin Pistorius shot his girlfriend through the bathroom door.http://deadspin.com/5984511/reports...-steenkamp-was-shot-through-the-bathroom-door

They sure know how to pick 'em. I bet they're falling off their chairs in the Adidas boardroom.

Feel terrible for the poor girl. Pistorius seems (quelle surprise) not to be the man he was painted to be. While this poor woman was brutally killed, the UK paper The Sun printed bikini photos of her on its front page. Yes she was good looking but **** off and show some respect, the dead can't defend themselves. It really shows that sexism is rampant in our society when the most widely circulated paper reacts like this to an awful case of domestic abuse.

This is no Nike ( which is a greek word and means Win) it is the definition of the word Hetta ( which means defeat).
I suppose that it is time to change their brand name.. :D
