The canal Vasco guys said he was a good tter.

Samu said before the season that his 2 targets were PV and TDF but I hope hell carry this through to Ardennes. Is Fuji doing Ardennes though. That could be 1 amazing partnership.

Obviously im a pro Sanchez person on here but bias interferes with judgement so I leave it out of my analysis. So i aknowledge Samu isnt the best tter.

But hes not the worst either. I know its one result and I bring it out all the time but he came second in the Vuelta tt to current last years 3rd best tter, David Millar. He lost by a mere 5 seconds on a 25k course no less.

So he certainatly can pull it out when it matters.

I however doubt it will matter enough for him tomorow.

Teammates tell him not to attack and he ignores. Wow, this guy really is the new Vino.

Why do you call him that?

Fuji's definitely doing Amstel, not sure about the others. Personally I hope he doesn't in order to rest so he is ready for Giro.

Samu can absolutely wreck it in a TT if he wants. He won the Vuelta TT in 07, 2nd in the Vuelta TT in 09 (on distances similar to this).

He is also 4-3 against Kloden in head to head TTs, and he is racing in the most important race for him and his team, so I am ready for an impressive showing

One thing is for sure, this is the type of race TeeJay Van Garderen was referring to when he made this remark concerning race radios "You want my answer to more exciting bike racing? More exciting courses. Plain and simple."

Aside from the predictability of say Duarte "Originally Posted by hfer07

Just watched the highlights. Frank Schleck goes over the last climb with the group but comes in a minute back? Did he have a mechanical anyone?

Nope, according to Andy Schleck, Fränk Schleck was pretty cooked after his attack and lost contact in the downhill.

Must have had a terrible downhill though, losing 1'16 in 1km downhill is pretty spectacular, like going 10 km/h?

He probably took it VERY easy in order to avoid a crash. If you watch the footage again, during the downhill, after Andrew attacked there seemed to be an issue with the cars as the camera suddenly panned about hectically. Looks like they tried to record something happening at 10:19, as if something went wrong and they wanted coverage of that...

it seems that according to andrea de luca(rai),sammy beat the record of arrate,a 30 years record of lejarreta.the time of sanchez was 18:??(i'm not really that good at italian).the medium speed on the climb was 28 km/h!!!
So the entire group beat that record..

Weird, it was headwind on the climb and the group was bigger than in the past

Some years back I had this great pic of Sammy that was probably the coolest TT shot I've ever seen. It was my wallpaper for like 6 months. I've looked for it several times since and just can't locate it. Anyway if I ever come across it again I'll definitely share it. It's by far the coolest pic I've ever seen of him.
