He countered once they caught Vino and Andy. They couldn't respond. Klöden was probably the only one who could have gone with him but was too slow to react.

You are probably right, it just looked odd to me for some reason.

I am starting to give up on Uran.:(

Is not like I didn't know that he has problems with recuperation anyway. Maybe should take some days off.

Uran was definitely their leader for this race, and clearly isn't having a good time of it. Didn't even see him with the strugglers on the last climb.

He blew up and then hung on for dear life in the second group, just like Gesink btw.

I'm starting to worry about Gesinks climbing as well. Or maybe he is really peaking for the Ardennes and doing it right. Who knows.

Next weeks AGR will tell us more
I think he's pulling an Andy Schleck. Training mode, not going into the red too much.

I didn't follow most of the things happening behind, but was Fränk ultimately dropped in the end?

Really concern about his strategy or Leopard's for that matter...

Other dissapointments

Cunego (uhm, what was that?)
Vandenbroeck (still no good aside from the Tour)
Duarte (learn how to follow)

Maybe Gesink has a lot of confidence in his TT :p

I will cry in a corner if Gesink starts to TT better than climbing..

This is really the first race this year in which he's disappointed. I don't think it's recuperation, as he didn't go as expected on the 1st stage either.

They've been saying the whole week that he's too conservative. Today they even said "you can't ride like that" when he was hanging out at the back of the group in the final climb. They knew he was going to attack exactly where he did, so they knew he had the strength, just not the will to move. They reckon he's throwing the Itzulia

They're right actually. He rides like that very often, often also resulting in second places.

Bashing him for what?

One of the commentators was all the time saying that Samu is too cold, that he should have attacked earlier if he was ok, that some day he will regret his coldness. Before, the target of his bashing was Igor Anton (and how he will do nothing in Giro, that he is old to learn,...). I think he is not pleased with E-E's results.
I will try to investigate who he is (I think he is not Laiseka, the other commentator).

Hopefully Duarte will learn to time his attacks better, he certainly has plenty of punch.

Vino surely followed good today till the end of the climb..
He has learned over the years how to follow. Certainly he wasn't like that initially. I hope Duarte does learn that too.:)

Somebody needs to have a serious talk with Duarte about dosing his efforts or attacks.

he clealry did not have a good day. I think he attacked just to show himself some and because he doesn't know what else to do like vino used to attack when he was tired just to motivate himself a little.

I think it was Arsenio González.

Can't blame him, though. He was spot on both on Samu and on Antón. :p

Must have been ****ed off at Fränk at least. What happened there? He was right in the wheel at the top of the climb, and then lost 1 minute in the descent???

Did Fränk fall again?
