I know it's an odd-numbered year, but Klöden's reinvention is pretty hard to swallow.

And I felt guilty that this sprung to mind as soon as I saw his time.

Does Purito make sure hes in the leaders jersey for tts so that he doesnt get 4 people overtaking him?

Ahh he's on the Hog juice today......very cynical. The Shack boys have been doing this all year and it's just a bit much really!

Interested to see how Gesink will do (climbing-wise) in the Tour seeing as his TT is quite a bit better than Andy so far this season.

Indeed, too bad his climbing seems worse compared to last year. Gesink actually did better on the flat part of the TT than the hilly part.
I guess we'll just have to wait for July.

4? That's being a bit kind to him don't you think?

He gained a minute here. He'll gain a minute at most in the Tour.

Be careful, I got in big trouble for this in the Dreidaagse de Panne thread.

Honestly Gesink will be no match to Andy Schleck on the TDF climbs when andy is on form.

I'm not thinking today. I'm thinking he's been in stellar form all season so far. How long can it last?

He could have won this GC with a much less eye-opening time and I would have thought, he has great pedigree and has raced well this season, and let it go.

But smashing everybody like this, well, I can only say that I've been let down many a time before.

On the other hand, he could now fade in the second half and win the GC with a less eye-catching time and that'll be that.

Not great from Hes-J but the ITT has never been his strength. I hope he has a good showing in the Ardennes.

It was a comment on the way the Shack have been racing this year more than a comment about the other thing, I daresay this will be discussed elsewhere....how far back is Purito now, stuck in work this is all I have

his climbing has been really average tho. Here and TA. still he could very well podium at both despite not being at his best (in terms of climbing) as things stand. pretty good.

his tt work has really payed off.

Gesink officially in the top 5
