Total hardman stage, 200+km in *** weather, 47+kph race speed and these guys contesting the win in a break of less than 20 guys for the last half of the race.

Flipping awesome, deserved win for Mads! Loved him crushing the past few days too, what an ANIMAL!!
Mads stayed on the front yesterday rode like a Ferrari!! Guy is strong and smart..Two days of absolutely burying himself.. Super impressive!! He is the definition of hardman!!!

You always say this, and then it doesn't happen because people are not only riding for results. Of course they want to finish PN if they can.

This is the first time I have made this specific post predicting riders will withdraw. There have been 3 editions in the last 10 years when less than 80 riders have finishes PN. There are currently 138 rides in the race and it will be no suprise if we lose 20 or 30 in the next two days.

(Yes, yes, yes... I know it's an old joke.)

Mads strikes me like an Anatoly-type guy who goes out incognito on a cruiser bike among a bunch of cocky local pros and absolutely destroys them.
(For those of you who don't get the Anatoly reference:

The chase he put on was impressive.. Talk about full pull, guy was absolutely drilling it on the front and he can put in a decent sprint!! I am not really sure what the objective is for Trek(?) But Mads is a bright spot and he has a certain train locomotive character.. He has a Nils Politt quality but has a good sprint!!

Good or bad echelon for astana? They lost positions to sheffield and foss, but both are still catchable. Instead they passed lenny martinez who will not have a chance to come back.
