This was a perfect stage for Almeida. Not a very difficult climb and he wheelsucked the whole way up while Jonas went on the offensive in the wind.

Jonas will win easily on the tougher stages.

This is not really true though, Almeida did a lot of the chasing. He did get a little help at the end though which is what won him the stage.

Of course there's going to be some overreacting and some truly insane hating on this forum, but Vingegaard really wasn't that strong today and I doubt he'll be much stronger later. Almeida still has to drop him quite significantly though to win this race, which will be difficult.

It was Almeida doing most of the job catching Vingegaard, it's not like he really followed wheels.

There has been at least one Danish stage win in the race every year since 2019. Would be a shame if this was the year that statistic gets broken.


For selfish reasons, I'd prefer if Skjelmose or Lund took a stage.
Or Charmig, but that's quite unlikely.
