The whole peloton is in a single file, but they don't really take any time on the break. Looks really good for Storer.

Then they needed to place a big signalling thing there. The ones you see from Boplan. This could’ve been way worse.

Skjelmose made a mistake, he makes a split second decision to change direction. That can also happen with some sort of signalisation. Maybe it would be a way better if the signal is high enough but before you know it riders crash into it.

They had a guy signalling the potential danger and everyone except Skjelmose managed to dodge it perfectly fine. Can't really fault the organisers too much. More of a mistake by Skjelmose.
To the concept of actually placing a flag man on the danger and elevate them so riders can see it ahead. Instead they have the flag man off the side of the road (because danger) where it almost looks like any rando fan waving whatever.

You think everyone in a large group sees all of this clearly? Skeljmose sees this he isn’t skipping across the danger at the last moment

The point is that that guy really does not look like a random fan. If you think as a rider that a guy with fluo things everywhere waving a yellow fluo flag is a random fan than you're just stupid.

I'm not saying it couldn't have been signalled better, but Skjelmose is also at fault.

The man is wearing a motorcycle uniform and helmet and is waving the triangular yellow flag in exactly the way they always do. You're reaching so hard here.

dude bounced off the road for a reason. And it wasn’t because he understood the danger was there.

On a nice day the scenery is quite lovely, and you can see some snow on the mountains in the background. (The weather at the finish line looks pretty crap though, so it's just a matter of time before the road gets wet again.)

About 23km to go

Other teams protecting their GC spots now. Don't think break will make it. well maybe Storer could, but doubt it. Depends on how much energy he has spent.
