there can't be much more than a handful of climbers in front, so it probably makes sense for the "peloton" to try to keep the gap somewhat reasonable.

Its not a total disaster for Ineos with Onley in the second group when you consider most of the riders are domestiques.

Red Bull benefits massively from this situation. They are cementing the 2nd placa and ye hey are only 1 misfortune away from the overall win.
What does that have to do with Vingegaard just cruising along and not doing anything, but then taking bonus seconds?

Anyone else on any other team, would have done the same thing. You have one team with 4 riders, who drilled it when there was a crash. Anyone who would pull with them would be a massive idiot. WTF are you even talking about?
