Last year he was still thinking about doing something special at his retirement Tour, and his ride was awesome more than once. But he knos he has had one more spin around the sun on the clock, so I would be amazed if he was considering a similar year as last year.
I would expected him to target PN as his real farewell parting stage race shot, then help Kreuziger in the TdF. In all likelyhood his last chance to shine.
But his head seems to want to do things that his legs no longer can. The pull he did yesterday ran out of Vino fuel long before it ever would, on a bad day.
It looks like he can no longer put the sustained effort in. And Vino was all about the sustaining.
