So according to Velo MVDP had an illegal feed in the last 20kms, and was fined.

What is the point of these rules when they are just transactional? Same with pogs likely illegal feed.

Both probably changed the outcome of the race, so why do they not allow them, but also make the penalty so small it is 100% worth it to break the rules and pay the fine.
I agree, but nothing will happen because their name is too big. This was the battle they wanted so they just let it happen. Not to mention UAE isn't even fined for their actions.

Speaking about those feeding rules, TBH I'm not a big fan of those. If people want big spectacles they should allow feeding at any point of the race. Those guys make huge efforts and it's natural that their energy level can drop towards the end. I see no problem in MVP getting some food late in the race, we want them to perform, not to die, right?

I honestly thought those rules were mostly due to safety concerns. Can't have riders going down to the cars for feeding when everyone is winding up for a sprint.
Of course, the races where everyone is winding up for a sprint are generally the quite easy ones, where riders are unlikely to need feeding close to the finish line.

because it's a dumb rule in this case.

That post from the Mohoric Fan club points out something very important:
Fan clubs are for a specific rider, doesn't mean they are against any other riders.

Of course they have to open the tickets to non fans. Because how many mohoric fans are there in Belgium that actually identify as such in an organized way? 3?

On the other hand, they could also fit a few more gels in their back pockets. The weight consciousness to not keep a couple of backup 3 ounce gel packets is kinda funny, but they all do that:

One last thing about the Bottle Thrower.
Would have been great if he'd been identified before returning to Belgium, and the Fan Club had told him that he'd have to find his own way back.

Tales from the smallest rider in the race: Diego Pescador. It is mostly Spanish.

His intention was to finish or go further than where He retired but his tire blew up and there was nobody else to help so that was it for him.

Huge bummer no one helped him, but he has a great attitude about the race itself. Hopefully he'll be back and this time with a spare wheel!

No Movistar rider finished the race, so there's the chance the team cars abandoned before Pescador.

It would have been funny if Pescador had been the only Movistar rider finishing, while their Danish giant Norsgaard was the first rider to abandon.
