Not according to UAE! I might be wrong maybe Vermeersch did disobey orders, but more likely this was what he was told to do.

i.e., work for Pogacar, but if punctures, stay in the front.
UAE put down their entire team before Haveluy aside from F. Vermeersch. Perfectly normal. BUT OBVIOUSLY he should have been there the 5-10 km between Haveluy and Arenberg given that the gap was between 15-25 seconds. There's absolutely no argument. Absolutely not.

I so desperately want van Aert to be the benefiary of all this that i just know itll be Pedersen and i like Pedersen, but if the stars arent aligned this time, theyll never be

To all the people declaring it over.

Under normal circumstances - when everyone is at their best - both Pedersen, WvA, Laporte and Pithie are faster on the line than Pogacar, and Stuyven is not far off.

Problem for Pedersen is he has not been able to maintain his sprint due to the injury.
