Nobody can possibly think its better to have 2 in a group of 8 or so, 1 of whom is Pedersen, than 1 in a group of 2.

Pogačar should just stop working from now until the finish. Unfortunately he isn't smart enough to do it.

Neither rider can stop working, because neither riders gives a crap about 2nd, so if one stops the other ones does too - and then the group behind catches them.
