I don't understand comments like this, kicking someone who's down already. The crash looked foolish of course, but clearly a lack of concentration or adrenaline overdose, not lack of skill. Surely it's impossible to be a world class CX rider without also being an excellent bike handler.

Well he was not able to jump the obstacles until last season so... :)

I think bike handling in road cycling is as much about concentration and riding in close proximity to many other cyclists, and with cars etc... as it is about technical skills. Van Aert and Van der Poel are great technically, but maybe lack experience in the other side of it.
