Hushovd said that this was his big season target... He won Niuewsblad, but I don't think he can win P-R really. I think Cancellara is out of the favourite bunch after his crash recently. What about Maaskant? He did a 4th(?) last year, maybe he can do something better this year? That'd be great! i'm looking forward to watch the race!

Matti's time

I like Matti's chances this year. He's matured and gotten stronger - if he's in the first group in Roubaix anything can happen. Maybe he can pull a Dewolder-like move id everybody is watching Fabi ??

Anyway it's always a spectacular race and a spring fav.

Boonen seems to be back on track and will probably be unbeatable since Cancellara is struggling with his health/form.

Let's hope for an upset by a youngster like Langeveld, Breschel, Maaskant or van Avermaet.

Obviously, Boonen is always a contender. I also think Hushovd has made it his prime target of the season. Cancellara seems to be out after his ToC illness and his crash. O'Grady is always at the front and so is Flecha. What's the latest on Devolder and Hoste...

When it comes to the youngsters, maybe Langeveld. He has been showing good form, and last year he was in the break, untill he missed a corner and crashed. I heard good things about Boasson Hagen if he is competing. Or who knows, Maaskant?

Don't forget about WC Ballan. He is poised to show off that jersey.

It's going to be very interesting... Unfortunately, I won't be around to see them fly over section 18 "Trouée d’Arenberg" and finish on the velodrome :(

Totally agree about Ballan having a good show in the WC jersey, Don't forget also about Leif Hoste. I think also that this is the race that Hincapie is destined not to win somehow.

I am a massive Fabs fan so I would never discount him despite a lack of form - he's surprised with amazing performances before. But if it isn't his year I'd love to see an underdog win like Flecha or Hoste.

Personally I've already found it to be an exciting year for pro cycling with so many comebacks and so on. I'm enjoying Paris-Nice and TA right now so I don't want to speed up the year!:p

give a look to cervelo test team

Boonen is the absolute favorite with Cancellara and Ballan as runner-ups like last year. I don't think that Hincapie is still in the mix. But I would bet a top five finish for Hushovd who is on form right now and has a support team that is dedicated (Rollin and Hammond).

Is Lance going to do Paris Roubaix? He showed at Leadville that he can handle rough terrain. I bet he could win it if he really tried. A true champion can always prevail.

yes, and the rest of the classics specialists are complete chumps.......how is an American MTB race in anyway comparable to Paris Roubaix ?

It's going to be very interesting to see what Thor Hushovd can manage now that he actually has a good team around him in P-R. It's been his favourite race ever since he won the amateur version in 1998. Since then he's been with Credit Agricole who never really had any great support for Thor in the classics. Too often he found himself alone with half the race to go and often got his Roubaix runs spoiled by flat tires or other bike trouble with noone around to get help from.

Hopefully the only thing that will decide the outcome for him this year is wether he has the right legs or not...

...Cancellara. I mean 7.6 watts per kilo for a threshold is unbelievable!!!!

srsly? have you got a link or source for those numbers?

guess that is why he is a pro and we are, well, not. thought my piddling 4.25w/kg was decent :(

I too would love to see Hincapie win a major event and P-R or Flanders are his best chances. If luck is on his side and bad luck on Boonen's then he can take it.

I'm also looking at a good showing from Flecha, Hushovd and a new guy Kevin Ista (Agritubel) who has been appearing near the front at the finish of a lot of races and looks to be made for races like Roubaix and Flanders. Now if Flecha can avoid his usual tactical errors he can get a win especially with the strength that Rabobank is showing.

Go Thor!
The teamat CTT is very deep, impressive for a debutant team, support like Haussler, Rollin and Hammond is better that Thor has EVER had. If he is on form you can throw in some one like Lancaster who will kill himself to really drive the pace up, CTT is really starting to become my new Favourite!

Younger guys may start to have an impact for themselves as well, Matti Breschel, Greg van Avermaet, Heinrich Haussler, when the favourites are all looking at each other these guys are still strong enough to make the plays
