I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To win them is my real test
To train for them is my cause
I will travel across the world
Searching far and wide
Teach riders and fans to understand
The power that's inside my legs

Ash Ketchum did !!!spoiler alert!!! eventually become a Master after 25 years, so Pogimon's still got a lot of time left to achieve everything in, if he too can avoid ageing. That goes for the likes of Seixas and Remco (who like Ash seems to be learning some stuff quite slowly) as well.

Last year he did AGR after Flandres + PR double and maybe it was a bit too much (he kinda cracked there). FW may still be on the cards. Why aren't Romandie and Suisse proper races? Because you say so? He's gunning for history and Tour and monuments are the way (and Vuelta at some point, not sure if this year).
Is Romandie the same as PN/TA/Catalunya/Basque? Not in my book, but if you feel that's the same, then go ahead.

I am. He’s missing a lot of great races, because of Vuelta. Which is fine, as long as he rides Vuelta. If he doesn’t I’ll find his total year schedule weak. Not that that matters he can do whatever he wants.
What great races? Spring has 4 major races and he is riding all of them. One week stage races sre nothing compared to monuments so I don't get your point.
Calling weak to this schedule is insane. Something we probably don't see since Kelly?

His spring schedule is weak because he has only two exhausting races - Flanders and Roubaix.
San Remo is a joke with its 250 kms in zone 1.
LBL is his playing ground.
Romandie is also much easier compared to Catalunya, Itzulia or Paris-Nice.
Tour de Suisse is now a 5 days race which will be races on criteriums (meaning the race is also a joke and not exhausting).
He should arrive at the Tour fresh as a cucumber.

Lighter doesn't mean weak.

Points wise Romandie is same as PN, Tirreno aso. 2.WT same uci points that is.. So I would say it just as easy as other week long ones. Teams live and die with uci points so it's just as easy as others.

Big mistake IMO. Why not race the Vuelta and fight ftw? Now, it's almost a sure bet he will race the TdF.
He's being tremendous in this early season, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.
He's 19. He's never done a GT. He is untested in long climbs.
He's not fighting for a GT GC win this year. No way. It's too soon.

It'd be great seeing him in the Tour soon though.

I'm curious how Seixas performs i.e. how close he will be to the top3, to guys like Del Toro and Pidcock.
I think Pidcock may prove a prime combatant. Form is good, motivation has to be there and he's probably tired of not winning a race designed for him.

"Pogacar is an alien, but Seixas is the Messiah. He is the one who is 'expected'"

Marc Madiot hopes Seixas is the messiah of cycling, who will stop the Alien from the East.

Madiot reminds me of several other pundits from other countries yearning for the Big Thing. Seixas may be that in time but history shows the French routinely pressure their young phenoms, become "disappointed" in them when they don't win the Tour, then love them when they fight for the rest of their careers. Alaphillippe, Gaudu....They should accept that Pauline Ferrand-Prevot is the best French cyclist of this Millenia and celebrate that.

He wants to win all 7 important one-weekers and he's never done Romandie and Suisse so...
Basque race win is also missing but it's not really feasible now (it's between Flandres and Roubaix).
Still, I prefer him taking up the cobbled monuments challenge to winning Basque race with his eyes closed.
But I agree that he should do Vuelta rather sooner than later, his window won't last forever.
I completely agree with this. I think he should do it this year to be honest. I don't think he needs to prioritise the WC quite as much now that he is double world champ. If he wins the Vuelta but not the WC, I think that would be okay. I know it logically makes sense to do the Canadian Classics, but I just don't think the WC should be his top priority this year.

He has a brother?
And it has... sometimes happened that the younger brother is more talented:

Just to name a few

Be scared. Be very scared!

(Of course, there are also examples where it's definitely not the younger brother who's more talented.)

Could add Andy Schleck, Jakob Ingebritsen.

Another superb performance today.

He was really close from following Pogačar on Monte Sante Marie and then still had the legs to drop Del Toro on Santa Caterina.

Chapeau Paul!

Lenny Martinez said after Faun Ardèche that Paul Seixas was already better than Isaac Del Toro.

And I think he's right.

By far the second strongest today, wow! The future is now. If not for the tactical disadvantage vs Del Toro he would've had a good gap over the 3rd.

I'm definitely a fan.

the fact that he is on a French team (and not UAE) makes a huge difference in how I feel about his obvious natural talent.

Do not expect him to rival Pogacar [content deleted] this year, but can we dream perhaps next year...?

Time will tell whether he's just developing at a faster pace than other riders of his generation, but no one can deny that he is an exciting and hugely talented prospect.

Goes to his limit trying to follow Pogacar, continues to work much harder than all the rest, still drops them multiple times. Even if Del Toro didn't give it his all in the end, still an unreal performance, if I was Del Toro I'd get worried about the future right about now.
