surely liquid doimo will not let him race after ASO ring them to say no and basso/nibali realise they won't be riding the TdF if Pelli is named and the team are out...

I think they would clear it with the ASO first, not have him try to crash the party.

i imagine ASO are watching this with sweaty hands as they may not have too many big names for this tour with lots of former winners covered in mud....

sweaty hands that the GC battle may end up being Contador vs. Schleck with Sammy Sánchez, Evans, Wiggins and a few others watching on from outside? Isn't that what it would have been anyway?

Nah, ASO will threaten to uninvite Liquigas if Pellizotti rides, just like they did to Caisse d'Epargne last year (which probably was a harder sell for them since Caisse are a French sponsor and bring some French riders). Unless the ASO believe he's innocent (!).

if the blood-passports are revisited and proven to show PED usage purely based on a constant level it may be a big prob for everyone and then....ASO might do something completely out of left field......but money talks and no doubt it will be exchanged and TdF will go ahead with all the big names as before....

If they are busting him for fluxuations in his blood values, it appears that maybe he is doing it wrong, or maybe his program needs to be tweaked. Sounds like the real doping shows a constant of values that stay within the range.

With all the public attention back on doping, seems unlikely Liquigas would field him at TdF. He's all journo's would ask about, day in, day out.

And Liquigas are Team of The Year right now (make of that what you will), so surely they want the focus to be on results - not results.

They probably have to say this as part of his defense.

I'm sure they'll be relieved to know that Valverde is training hard for the race :D

If he gets cleared there won't be any oposition from ASO for him to race the Tour.

Or else, they would have to block several riders that have already been caught doped (Vino, Basso, Millar), drugged (Bonen) or even implied in some cases, like the Radioshack Team or Valverde.

judging by today and this Giro Pellizotti is hardly an integral member of the team now a much younger rider looks like he may podium (Nibali) and Basso has been fully restored to his former glories, Franco has a major tarnish on his reputation why take the risk and frankly he should be relegated back to super domestique

Sorry Armstrong is more competition than Andy.
Andy will never win a tour. Has the DNA but not the motivation. Sammy S., Sastre yes but they are Spanish. Why should the Spanish challange Contador? They are nationalistic.
