Personally I find the BOB a bit odd and a bit of a cheap way to get titillated . Its not my cup of tea at all . If I want to get turned on in that way I look at porn.

Errr... mods... did you go in an remove our (mine and... can't remember who else posted) pictures of nice-looking (half-naked) podium boys?
Yes they did. One was even with the guys stripped nearly naked with only golden boxer briefs on. You get the idea. It was.. revealing to say the least. :D

But I've seen podium boys come into the sport, and I don't mind at all. Equal playing field. Though the podium boys and girls should probably be scrapped. Not a huge fan of them at all.

I've seen that golden boxer briefs Picture. I've posted it! :D

Yes, Foxxy did just that to annoy you. 'Cos he knew you really really liked the Babes thread.

No, because in case you never noticed, or decided to forget, BoB was originally my 'baby'. I started it, and I posted regularly up to 3m views, iirc, after which Nowhereman took the baton from me.

If you think that BoB was ever intended to be a porn substitute, well, I think you have a problem.

Yeah, it just sucks to be a woman, huh? On this particular, specific subject, you clearly, and by your own admission, have no idea what you're talking about, so I'll consider your stated opinion as being worthless.
If this kind of morale was at the heart of the BoB thread, it's becoming increasingly clear why the owners took it down.

What the heck are arguments of those who voted yes?
(copyright?)

There are several posts in this thread and other articulating each side of the discussion extremely well. If you really are interested in people's reasoning I suggest you start with these and ask questions, discuss them.
I will read those,thanks.

Voted 'Yes (I am a man)'.

Reading the posts of some of the No voters, you'd think they were sculpting marble statues in the best Hellenistic fashion or writing poems of courtly love in Provençal.
What's wrong with respectfully admiring someone's physique?

Yeah indeed. I maybe clicked the thread like twice or something so admittedly I can't be too sure what the majority of the thread was filled with, but the little bit that I saw definitely included a lot of images that didn't conform at all with the lofty language used by some of the no voters here.

Lessee, 4.5 million divided by 7 years is 1760 hits per day, about one hundred times the number of no votes so far. I also note that CN claims there have been more 90,000 users browsing this forum at some point or another. So sure, let’s give the thread more time, but in my experience, polls like this usually have a lot of responses in the first few days, when most people who come to this forum regularly see it, and much fewer later, when occasional visitors may see it. I’ll be quite surprised if the total number of no votes exceeds a tiny fraction of the total number of posters, but of course I'll accept what the results indicate. One of the reasons I started the poll was to get an idea of how large a fraction it is.
Sorry but what logic is this? Of course that the total number of no votes will be just a tiny fraction of the total number of posters. As well as that the total number of all other votes will be just a tiny fraction of the total number of posters. There are currently 93,197 members on this forum. By far the most successful poll I could quickly find was Froome vs. Contador from 2013 which attracted whopping number of 730 votes - or a 0.78% of all current members. So I really do not understand what expectation you have?

My point, which I thought I explained pretty clearly in my posts, was that the very large number of hits, 4.5 million I think, was most likely the result of a relatively few posters visiting the thread a very large number of times. That being the case, all the dire predictions of a massive efflux of visitors from CN was likely to be overblown.

The Froome-Contador poll that you cite just reinforces this. There are at least 700 people who visit this site frequently enough to vote on the cyclist they prefer, yet only a small fraction of that number seem to care much about the BoB thread. Even if you want to claim that many more will appear to vote if we give the poll enough time, that doesn't explain how the thread could average nearly 2000 hits a day unless most of the hits were from a small handful of viewers. If there were, say, 500 different forum members who browsed that thread 3-4 times every day, why aren't they voting now? If you want to argue that most of them never joined the forum, wouldn't many of them do so just to vote if they cared that much about the thread? And if they didn't join the forum because they weren't that interested in cycling, why would they visit the thread so often when pictures of women like this without bikes are found all over the internet? And if they don't care that much about cycling, how is their exodus going to affect CN marketing?

Scott seems to think most of the viewers are intimidated from voting. I really don't see why, given that it's anonymous. Maybe we need a poll asking how many times a day on average people browsed that thread.
