Champion in TTT? Wow, that makes him a god. He's the best climber in the world after this win for sure.

Impressive win for BMC,they were unstoppable today.Good fight for Sir Brad and the boys but it was impossible in 4 man, crappy decision to get G.and Puccio.
Good that the rain didn't come earlier to cause havoc, cause that Rabo Liv crash was horrible, one of the worst i seen in years.
So Orica/Orica AIS got 2 silver medals, maybe next year they'll make them 2 gold medals:D

Big Doopie, this is not the clinic section. Different rules apply. If you want to speculate on which riders are clinic-impaired you know where to go.

He didn't mention names... nor intended to. Just an observation. Nothing wrong with something as subtile as that. :)

He is implying Tejay is a clean rider and one of the very best behind the doped up riders. That seems to be clinic material to me.

I totally disagree. He said 'snipped'

Well that is calling a few high profilers cheaters and doesn't belong here. How does he know BTW? There are no open cases against any of those very top gc-ers.

Congratualtion Peter. Third titul in the raw.

Probably he is in form and can survive more that half of the race on next Sunday. :)

Let's keep clinic stuff out of this thread, even if it's just a small comment.

Missed seeing the race live, but very glad to see BMC get the win today. :)
Poor Orica, on the podium again for the 3rd year in the row but missing out on the win yet again. :p

He has a good palmarès. But he's not got many wins of note outside the USA, and his style of riding means that few of us believe that he will win a Grand Tour. That's all. He's much better suited to the Tour than the backloaded climber-friendly Giro or the short, sharp carnival slopes and low TT mileage of the Vuelta. And I personally do not envisage any situation arising where the riders who I would expect to beat Tejay at a GT are ALL absent from the final classification. If he couldn't podium in 2014 when Froome and Contador both crashed out and Jice Peraud was 2nd, he will be hard pushed to win in the future imo. Yes, Froome, Contador and Nibali will not be there forever, but they're not THAT much older than him, and Pinot is younger than him too. He will continue to amass a good palmarès in the US stage races and places where the climbing is suited to him like Suisse, the Dauphiné and Catalunya. He might get a podium or two at the Tour de France. But - and I have been wrong about these things before, I once said Wiggins would never better his 2009 Grand Tour result and that Cadel Evans had missed his best chance to win the Tour in 2008 - the chances of him winning a Grand Tour are slim to none.

Which, when you consider Ryder freaking Hesjedal has won one, is a shame.

His winning a Worlds TTT is virtually meaningless in respect of changing my opinion with regards to Tejay in a Grand Tour.

Eventually the rain cost OPQS the win.

I think the wind did more damage than the rain. When such a weather change starts usually the wind picks up. They clearly had more wind on the climb.

Tom Dumoulin already mentioned a lot of wind on the climb and that was an hour before Quick Step was even there.

BMC definately won thanks to the weather

Annemiek van Vleuten ‏@AvVleuten 2m

Had a visit of the doc. Timetrial is not possible. :-( Roadrace saturday maybe. Leg is swollen. Meantime: leg high!

I mean, on the plus side, she's done better out of it than poor van der Breggen, but still, it's a shame.

The change in the trend of gaps indeed showed that Orica and QS were both suddenly going slower in the final part. But I don't know if BMC wouldn't have won regardless. They set a great time.

True. And unfortunately that is just the nature of tting in general. Sometimes it benefits a team or rider/sometimes it don't. Still I'm happy for BMC. Yes the wind helped them, but they did a great job nonetheless.

It's doesn't help that you quote him, you can easily direct him to the clinic without quoting his garbage.
