Doped Basso and his doped domestiques at CSC

Doped Pantani and his doped domestiques at Mercatone Uno
Doped Zulle and his doped domestiques at Banesto
Doped Beloki and his doped domestiques at Once

Doped Hamilton & Sastre and their doped domestiques at CSC
Doped Olano & Jalabert and their doped domestiques at Once
Doped Rasmussen and his doped domestiques at Rabobank
Doped Garzelli, Doped Kloden, Mancebo and Menchov.
Doped Zubeldia, Doped Boogerd, Doped Virenque, Sevilla, Millar, Dufaux Casero

Yes, Dope can turn Donkeys into Thoroughbreds, But Lance made sure no donkeys made it to the Top Podium Step.

And there were Top Quality Doped DangerMen in addition to the Doped Donkeys.

But Lance Vanquished them ALL - Year after Year after Year after Year after Year after Year after Year.

Lance was AWESOME. You know its TRUE. It is a FACT:)

Lance was riding in the Pro Peloton for a long time. Longer than most.
And 30 riders that Lance rode with sometime during his long career 1993-2011 were busted. Is that a lot? Considering when Lance started his career?

Geez, by the time Wiggans retires, he will probably have rubbed shoulders with plenty of dopers too sometime during his career.

22.7% seems a pretty high average, and that average is going up all the time. I reckon by the time floyd and the feds have finished that average will be nearer 50%

I think you will struggle to find too many riders for whom more than 1 in 5 of the guys theyve worked with have been found to have doped.

Strictly coincidence about postal. In the world of doping ,er cycling percentages of team doping is purely incidental. By the way the rumor is Floyd secretly is a British Citizen. Floyd still can't produce a drum roll like Ginger Baker though.

DIM, FWIW, Savoldelli was a Ferrari client and Rubiera rode for Kelme from 1996-2000 before joining USPS, Discovery Channel, Astana, and RadioShack, managed by Bruyneel.

Here are a few riders off the top of my head who I would guess rode on teams that had at least 1 in 5 riders as dopers....

Gilberto Simoni
1994 Jolly Componibili
1995–1996 Aki
1997 MG Maglificio
1998 Cantina Tollo
1999 Ballan
2000–2001 Lampre-Daikin
2002–2004 Saeco Macchine per Caffè-Longoni Sport
2005 Lampre-Caffita
2006–2007 Saunier Duval-Prodir
2008–2009 Diquigiovanni-Androni
2010 Lampre-Farnese Vini

Filippo Simeoni
1995–1996 Carrera Jeans
1997–1998 Asics
1999 Riso Scotti
2000 Amica Chips
2001–2002 Cantina Tollo-Acqua e Sapone
2003–2004 Domina Vacanze
2005–2006 Naturino
2007 Aurum Hotels
2008–2009 Ceramica Flaminia-Bossini Docce

Johan Museeuw
1988-1989 ADRenting
1990-1992 Lotto
1993-1994 GB-MG
1994-2000 Mapei
2001-2002 Farm Frites
2003-2004 Quick Step

I bet you could think of many more.
Again, Lance seems "average" when compared to his peers.

I mean c'mon, three people who Lance rode with at sometime in his career have been busted THIS year...Li Fuyu, Contador, and O'Bee. I think all that "proves" is that Lance has had a long and diverse career.

About GH.

No published positive, but...in the 2005 TdF G. Hincapie won stage 15. You might want to review the stage that this non-climber decisively won.

http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/road/2005//tour05/graphics/profile15.gif

Even the most biased fan(s) wondered at that time how big George won such a stage. I think this is as close to a positive for GH we have from his Postal/Disco days.

NW
It was from a breakaway. I remember Vaughters and Andreu talking about how George was climbing like a gazelle with all the best climbers at USPS and the year before he was a **** climber.

I do agree but saying he is clean and then saying Vino and his doped team mates at telekom is a bit hypocritical as evans was supposedly one of those "doped team mates".

This thread has caught my interest because I'm compiling all this stuff in a database application. However, cyclisme-dopage.com is notably poor on sources and I require them to add a record in my app.

I am currently looking for concrete sources for these though:

Obviously Triki's EPO+ is well documented but I found zilch on the cortico thing.

By concrete, I mean a reputed publication like CN, a newspaper or a UCI press release - that sort of thing. I don't use blogs and uncorroborated statements.

I read years ago that the Motorola got Yates to room with Armstrong in order to show the latter how things were done, at the time it seemed like an innocent comment.

Livingston's name was found in Dr. Ferrari's files.

That may account for the inscribed Rolex Presidential watch that apparently he, LA and TH all chipped in for and gave to the good doctor back around that time for services rendered?

This relates to Beltran's positive in 1999. But it says it was for EPO not corticoids. Triki was one of those rested in 2005.

On Matt White:
According to this article he got a 2 month suspension for salbutimol in 1998.
However in a follow up article White claims he was only suspended of receiving funding from the ACF because he failed to have a TUE. But positive is positive.

Someone mentioned Kevin Livingston?
My name was never on Lances files! These rumours that came out a few years ago are just not true. It was my training alone in my files, but I don't work with Ferrari any more."

Just noticed that Steffen Kjaergaard from 2000/2001, currently the director of the norwegian national team, has stated publicly that "I didn't notice anything, and I must've been bloody naive if this is true", when confronted with the Landis e-mail. Given the fact that Frankie Andreu, Tyler Hamilton, Benoit Joachim, Kevin Livingston, Cedric Vasseur and Roberto Heras tested positive, I must say that his naiveté must've lasted for too long a period if the Landis' allegations re Armstrong was what finally opened his eyes.
I just don't believe him for a second. Either his uptake is veeeery slow, or he's lying. Either case not what you'd characterize as flattering and endearing qualities.

Contrast his last statements with what he stated in 2000: http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/results/2000/jan00/jan6news.shtml

Steffen Kjaergaard, who will ride for US Postal this year, also rode for TVM some years ago and he is suffering from the doping discussion. "I feel the suspicions, even from people that are quite close," he told "Verldens Gang". Old buddies in Tønsberg (his home town) won't talk to me about it, but approach my girlfriend instead."

Kjaergaard feels the Dutch confessions, and comments from Pedersen and others as a burden: "If I'm doing well people start asking questions about doping and the problems around it. On the other hand it's in many ways positive for me that it's brought into the light now, which will favor clean cyclists. I belong to a generation of professional cyclists that will have to take this **** and we undoubtedly will have to live with it for years to come."

Kjaergaard made his pro debut for TVM in 1996 and had two seasons without any success. In 1998 he rode for the Danish amateur squad, Team Chicky World which became professional in 1999. During that year, Kjaergaard rose from 324th to 117th on the UCI rankings in a couple of months due to good performances of the team in minor races, the best performance being the victory in cat. 2.4 Circuit de la Sarthe.

However, burden or not Kjaergaard will continue his pro career, that he already broken once, after the TVM years: "You have to be tough when it comes to doping substances, and the reason that nobody offers me any is that I have clearly stated that I am against doping." But Kjaergaard also admits that if he wanted, he could get hold of banned substances without any problems.

Guess he's an interesting guy to prod real hard. Unless he has forgotten everything I bet he has stories to tell.

Here is an interview with Kjærgaard and Andreu in VG mid August this year.

http://www.vg.no/sport/sykkel/artikkel.php?artid=10035840

Quote:

Translation by Google, a few corrections by me:

"Frankie Andreu rode the Tour de France for Lance Armstrong in both 1999 and 2000. The first year he admitted to the AP that he doped up on EPO. The following year he claimed to have been clean.

Andreu tells of an environment in which Armstrong had a small, closed circle around him. The Bike King from Texas collaborated for years with the highly controversial doctor Michele Ferrari - without the public learned about it.

- Look how long it took before people discovered their cooperation. In the beginning was all very secret. No one knew who did something (doping) on their own, or who worked with Ferrari. Even I did not know about the cooperation with Ferrari before it was known in the media. Then it turned out that more cyclists worked with him.

- This was not a very transparent environment?

- No, it was very closed. No one talked about it, but kept to themselves.

- I'd never worked with Ferrari. Everyone knew what he was doing. For me it was just as bad to be caught for doping as associated with him, "Andreu told VG Nett.

- Can you have been riding for U.S. Postal, without detecting drug use at all?

- I have trouble believing that one has not discovered that there was anything in the cycling field. They needed not necessarily be aware of what happened in the U.S. Postal, but all had once suspected what was going on a more general basis.

- I am absolutely sure that Steffen Kjærgaard not specifically know about something that happened in the U.S. Postal, "says Frankie Andreu."

Paolo Savoldelli tested at a hematocrit of 49.9% the day Marco Pantani got kicked out of the Giro. This was before he became a Disco duck, but still.

The other Postal/Disco/Astana riders on this list are all implicated because they raced with Armstrong on Bruyneel's teams. That's enough to get implicated at this stage of the game. And I wouldn't give any Spanish/Colombian riders any benefit of the doubt. I don't care WHO they are.
