Posting images and image hosting

Well that's a nuisance.
Older threads have lots of blanks where there used to be images created and linked through Tinypic, That site folded in 2019, and since them most of us, I believe, have used Imgur to post screengrabs, our own editing of images, and other photos that do not have an image link.

However, since 30 September, all those of us in the UK have seen is a large purple rectangle in place of these images.

There is an explanation on the Imgur site:
View: https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/41592665292443-Imgur-access-in-the-United-Kingdom

I suspect that this is part of the same internet safeguarding regulations that have caused the removal of our PM facility.

So to fellow UK based members, I would point out that this is not a forum specific issue, to those outside the UK I would point out that your no doubt brilliant illustrations are lost to us.

Anyone have an alternative suggestion that might be more useful? (and better still if it is free)

I always use imgbb to host the images that I post here, but I also deliberately choose to remove them after 3 months.

I use postimages and tried to upload earlier and forum reported an error , I'm sure I followed exactly the same steps that worked OK a couple of days ago?

edit I was able to upload image from postimages today OK to another forum
( I'm in the UK forum perhaps hosted in USA ) but not here?

I use imgbb also (the free version); how come you delete your images after 3 months?
To save the environment! No, just because I feel it's random clutter on the internet. A screenshot of the startlist of a race in 2024 doesn't need to be kept forever on the internet. I can check the startlist through PCS, a screenshot of it isn't worth it.

I don't think I'm being hyperbolic when I say you are single-handedly destroying the internet
