Posts citing Instagram

Posters not uncommonly post material from Instagram. eg https://forum.cyclingnews.com/threads/tadej-pogačar-discussion-thread.34270/page-835#post-3104354
All I see in their posts on such occasions is a large rectange with the Instagram logo and blue type suggesting that I "View this content on Instagram".

I happily admit that having one extra mouse click to do that is very much a first-world problem, but is this the case for all users? Is there something in my setup of the forum, or in the way posters imbed the Instagram links, that results in them not displaying in the forum?

I did ask this once in a thread: I think I got one shocked emoji response and nothing constructive.

(I have an Instagram account but never post to it, occasionally look at friend and family posts there that I am notified of.)

I can see the one in the Pog thread that you're linking too.

Maybe it's got something to do with whether your browser/phone is auto logged in to Instagram.

I sometimes have trouble viewing Twitter posts, probably because I don't have an account there (and no plans to make one).

I have no Instagram account, and it is visible to me. It did take ~half a second or so for it to show though.

I can see the IG posts. There was a time when I couldn't, but I think I changed a setting somewhere, either in my browser or in the forum itself. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Are you from Europe? If you don't have an account, or never accepted Instragram's cookies, they can't show you the post, because they want to track you when showing the post.

I live in Mexico and unless you have an Instagram or Facebook account, almost always either site restricts your view as you describe. In the US often it has some message like - log on for full experience and some videos still play, others no.
