Can someone post an example of how one applies one of Veloclinic's models to the real world?

For example: http://veloclinic.tumblr.com/post/77350527297/the-holy-grail-equation-of-endurance-capacity. I don't really understand how one takes that model and applies it to mere mortals doing a 10K TT or some other kind of real-world-with-all-the-complicating-variables measured efforts.

Please leave aside the question of how accurate it may/may not be. I don't believe veloclinic's model more than any others. I just can't make the leap from formula to real world without an example of how that works.

My 'reading' of the info on that Veloclinic webpage is -

Train hard and often enough to improve,
but
Don't train so much that you decline.

I don't see it giving ANY help in how to ride a particular competitive event.

That's probably worth asking in the Form and Fitness forum where it should get the attention of Fergie, Alex or Coggan. Just put Frank on ignore first to filter the luddite snake oil and trolling.
