Yeah its a very nice and interesting team honestly. I suppose its Cruz and Henao for the GC, Kwito should hunt stages and I dno about Tao actually. Interested in seeing what Sivakov can do and interesting that they have selected Castro again, he is just pure class.
Nope, Cruz and Kwiatek
Well thats stupid then. Watch Kwito struggle.
Aye but it will give posters a chance to laugh at team sky

After a hard Tour and the witn at Poland, with the WC in mind as well, I simply cannot believe he will go for the GC. He could on the other hand win a couple of stages pretty easily IMO
Just watched the GCN preview and Emma Pooley predicted Kwiat to win the vuelta, so hey, what do we know, she should be more of an expert, right?

Indeed, wouldn't surprise me at all if he turned out to be a contender. Just look at some of the other Vuelta contenders we've in recent years

What is the general perception of Ion Izagirre's chance in this Vuelta? Personally, I think he is lined up to ride well as he seems to have been building for this all season. Obviously he was expected to be the "2" in a 1-2 from TBM, but with Nibali in uncertain condition, I think he will ride full gun for GC and ride well. The course should suit his skillset.

I think he has a good chance, plus Bahrain looks to have a very strong team they are sending. The original plan was Nibali for the Tour and I Izagirre for the Vuelta (basically allowing their Spaniard to have leadership for his home Grand Tour).

He has quite similar chances to win it as Valverde. One has 1-2 % to win it, another one .. maybe 3-4%. Your choice.

Personally, I think it is (a) more likely that Kwiatkowski finishes significantly behind Valverde and (b) more likely that Kwiatkowski wins the thing than that Valverde does.

Probably you are right. But what I meant: if Kwiato as a co-leader is sth stupid then Valverde as a real GT contender is also nonsense.

Looking TdF 2017 last tt and this year TdF, I'd say if Kawasaki has anything left in tank, he's true contender almost against anyone. He's not full blown grimpeur, but very good in mountains, remember his job has been towing others so if he's covered like captain..And he is very good tt'er these days.

At the beginning of the season who would have picked Thomas to win the Tour or even podium ? All the same I think this is much more unlikely.

It's not just that kwiat has never shown climbing good enogh to win a gt. If he had focused his season around this race, fine, but he probably peaked for the tour, with what was left of his tour legs he won in Poland and now he wants to prepare for the WC. Winning a the vuelta doesn't fit into this plan especially if he needs the shape of his life to do that

Not sure about the Ion hype... based on what???

Kwiat winning the Vuelta is more likely imo and I think that's very unlikely!
Ion has been very uninspiring this season. Don't get it either.

Kwiato no way. Good puncher and therefore perfect in a train, but no real climber. Not a chance

Antonio Nibali has more wins than Ion for Bahrain.
