Predict Etixx - Quick Step Squad in 2016 Tour de France

So far we have:

Marcel Kittel
Tony Martin
Daniel Martin
Julian Alaphilippe
Bob Jungels

We are still missing 4 names, here are who I think will ride this July

Fernando Gaviria
Zdenek Stybar
Matteo Trentin
Fabio Sabatini

It seems that Tony Martin and Bob Jungels will be their designated workhorse. With that line-up, they can win atleast 8 stages.
Interesting to see how fresh they will be come the Olympics

I am pretty sure Gaviria will not ride he will focus on the track for the OS and likely ride the Vuelta afterwards.

I think they go for: Kittel, T + D Martin, Alaphilippe, Jungels, Trentin, Stybar, Richeze, Verona

What has happened with Alaphillippe? What is he doing? Why doesn't he has any result after the 4th GT, last season? What the hell would he be doing at the Tour?

Kittel
Tony
Trentin
Jungles
Sabatini
Martin (crash out)
Martin velits
Tersptra
Vanderbergh

They will end the classics season with 0 wins, so they are going to need them at the tour. Since no one is playing donkey for kittel anymore and he can't use the shameful Giant tactics (only appear with 2 to go) they will need to work a lot to chase breakaways. Daniel Martins to be alone going up.

We're in the middle of one of the best weeks of cycling in the year and we're talking about the TdF line-up of some team who won't even challenge for GC?

Who cares?

They are leading the victory ranking. Kinda bizarre to say they'll end the classics season with 0 wins.

Unless you mean they'll end the classics season with 0 classics wins. That still could be true but with PR, AGR, Fleche and LBL coming up they still have plenty of chances. Alaphilippe had mono and is 23years old.

Weird topic anyway.

All of the Tour is the pinnacle of cycling, not just GC, although that is the pinnacle of the Tour, and thus also of cycling.

Vino > Tour

Therefore, Vino is the pinnacle of cycling.

I originally thought the same but now I'm sure he will. ;) :p

Is what we have so far

I don't think Pat Lefevre would dare to start without at least one belgium guy so..: Julien Vermote or Iljo Keisse
next: Fabio Sabatini
furthermore: Terpstra and Stybar

I think it's a bit too soon to send Jungels to back-to-back GTs.

If he is targeting the Giro, would make more sense to send him to the Vuelta, thinking about development.
Yeah, having Jungels do the Giro-Tour double would be a bad idea.

I am not so sure about Terpstra. He has stated on multiple occasions the Tour does not suit riders like him. However he was happy to help Cav in 2013.

Ettix-Quick Step said that Gaviria will be riding a stage race this year...but then later clarified which one: Tour of California. :) I doubt he will go to any of the Gran Tours this year. Next year, he will be at either Giro or Vuelta. Doubt Tour because of Kittel.

Tony, Kittel, Dan Martin, Trentin, Sabatini and probably Jungels should be a given. The rest is pretty much open. Will they take Stybar or Terpstra? Will they take Keisse, Vermote, Van Keirsbulck, Wisniowski or Vandenbergh as their main workhorse? Will they take someone to help Dan in the mountains other than Jungels? Since Brambilla will ride the Giro there is only De Plus, Serry and Verona left. And one of them is a neopro. So Verona or Serry? Richeze is another option for the leadout in front of Sabatini. But with Kittels tactic of "leadout only last 2-3 km" the train of Workhorse X - Tony - Trentin - Sabatini - Kittel should be enough.

Gaviria himself talked about the Vuelta: http://www.revistamundociclistico.com/ruta/20304-la-recuperacion-va-por-buen-camino-posiblemente-correre-la-vuelta-a-espana-fernando-gaviria.html
