Nathen Hass opted for the big wheel

$600 retail..yowser. Just for the pulleys and cage. 2.4w claimed..

Its bonkers. You could build some nice wheels etc for that kind of money.
If you have the skill you could make them yourself for just a few pounds/dollars.
I use powercordz brake cables and you need special way to anchor the cable. You can pay around £50 to get these clamps . I make my own for £3

Looks like tying off a nylon guitar string! Try this in future?

Middle diagram.

One good thing about the powercordz is no direct clamping. No damage to the cable at all.
I tie my brakes in standard E tuning :D

The beginning of the end for rim brakes..?

Roompot to race on disc brakes throughout 2016 season

Doubt it and sram is missing the boat huge with no hydro/etap but so what else is new..sram and missing boats.

Jury is till out with regards to discs and road racing..more than a little push back from pros in the euro peloton. Not even consistent with 'cross racing..won't be on road for a while.

I'm not convinced about the pelotons need for discs. I really think its a bit like electronic shifting. Its all very nice and all that but its not really needed.
Brakes have been working well in the pro peloton for years " they stop the bike" and so has mech shifting. We have seen some awesomely fast descents on " normal " brakes Nibs and Fab come to mind. IMO for pro racing its just another marketing tool to make some cash.
Plus they are still to heavy :D

Sram are always behind the competition. I do think perhaps the early red recall could have something to do with it although mine is still working " who knows how"
Having said that 5 years to get their eTap out there without any issues is perhaps better than 2 years with issues.

Emma Johansson is perhaps the only cyclist in professional cycling who is able to openly use a different groupset than the rest of her team

Weak of team and her, IMHO. She's been riding and racing how long? And she isn't skilled enough to figure out a different shifter 'protocol'? Sponsorship is about $, if I were Campagnolo, I'd maybe do the 'LA Sheriff decision'..they showed up on their Campag equipped Serotta's with DA front ders...Valentino saw it, and took the sponsorship away on the spot.

It's not like she is world champion or anything..she's a older, last year in peloton, pro..At least she had better pay for her own gear..and give the wrenches something extra for their time to muck with shimaNo..at least it ain't

scam/slam/spam/sram...

Well she always used Shimano and she made that a part of her deal when signing.
I'm on her side. The team can't go back on their promise. Good for her.
Campy does feel very different to Shimano or Sram. I switched to Sram red from Shimano because you could shift in the same way as 7800. Go right across the cassette in a couple of sweeps. Campy even though the carbon shifters look the business felt completely different. Less forgiving and almost clunky " to non campy users" . I have a few friends who ride Campy and they love it and they won't use anything else. If I could have got some record shifters I would have put them on my Guru ,they work fine with a red rear mech. In the end I went with Red because I got a great deal with the BTP carbon clamps included. I think I will at some point get some record shifters " they look so nice"

But the team 'promised' one of the companies that pays the bills, to use their stuff. As a guy who worked on all 3 groups a lot, I never had any problem figuring out how the stuff worked, how the shifter shifted. Is this last year as a pro, pro that valuable to jeopardize the $ that makes the team possible?

Poor form, IMHO.

Yeah I see your point . I think it was Cav who signed a deal with specialized so the whole team had to ride specialized as well. The power of top riders.

I have bikes with both Shimano and Campag. I can switch between them and not get confused. I think she's being difficult. She shouldn't forget who pays the bills. "It's difficult for an old lady to change...". Please.
