I don't get this argument. Why should they be obliged to comment? If they did The Hive would just castigate them as hypocrites anyways wouldn't it? They're damned either way. We say they are all at it, but they're expected to speak up when others are caught?
I don't reckon keeping out of it says much one way or t'other.

Dan Martin called it a 'witch hunt' saying that Sky are not that type of team. Dan Martin had a go at UCI for motorbikes in the sprint last month, but ignores doping at Sky. So let's call him on it.

Plenty in the sport had digs at Landis, Ricco, Rasmussen and Jaksche over the years.

Where is Hoy, Boardman and other BC team mates who basked in the glory of winning gold with BC who it appears have a culture of doping, bullying and sexism? Very quick to defend BC some of them against Jess Varnish and castigate her. Now where are the apologies and castigation of Wiggins, Freeman and Brailsford?

JV 'thinks' Wiggins was clean at his team, even though JV told the world they had an internal testing system to prevent the riders doping. JV called Sky a clean team!

Omerta as strong as ever. Hypocrisy as big as ever.

Fair points Benotti. I wouldn't necessarily disagree with any of it. The sport is full of tossers of various shades fo' shizzle (Snoop Lion! Word!)
I just don't think we can assume silence over Sky at the moment is evidence of omerta. Maybe it is. Maybe some are just being cautious before jumping in as the whole thing is still playing out.

Is there still no dignity in keeping your own council? Has social media turned us all in to reactionaries as the new norm?

Yes there is. Those in the public eye would do well to take your advice and keep their own council lest they be considered hypocrites and upholders of omerta. See Dan Martin for not waiting for a final outcome before declaring 'witch hunt'.

I think we should all agitate for JTL's reinstatement.

He's already reinstated, but quit before the start to this season because he couldn't find a team or got sick of training, actually I don't know why he quit/retired but he did...

personally, I see Rapha as overpriced kit for tossers.

in a good way, because it warns you, a tosser is on the way, self-selective, so you can either choose to keep their company or avoid.

I don't own any Rapha gear myself because it's so expensive, as for being a tosser I suppose I could still be one but it would help if I knew what the term "Tosser" meant..

yes, I reckon everyone is on gear, so one could point out my fallacy of why I can now see JTL making the gains? well, the dope logistics, the recovery drugs, Edita Rumsas, Motoman, plus a motor like Cancellara and Froome had, and mebbe Richie, I reckon JTL is a lock for top10.

its only fair, cos he got the scapegoat expedience...

Rumour has it, Sky will be wearing invisible and weightless clothing later this year in time for Tour de France. Squirrels secretly weaving said fabric in Manchester worked out there was a watt saving per kg of around 0.0000256658947554, but the main advantage was that the laws of physics can't actually act on the riders body if he's wearing it and is tricked into actually thinking there is no rider at all. As we all know that 70% of your energy is spent just moving yourself through the air it's expected most times up the major climbs in the tour de france will be around the same time as that of an F1 car this season.

I have a friend in London who does private yoga for the Rapha execs. Loaded his cyclist friends up cheap. The wool tops are nice if you can get in that way.

Although the doping allegations for SKY, Wiggins and perhaps other riders may be true, it is imperative to keep the investigation low key. We do not want to see a full blown Tygart witch hunt. This could be the tip of the iceburg, which would make cycling utterly unwatchable.

It's all perfectly reasonable.
Only today, I went to my doctor and they had no medical records for me because they keep them all on one single computer.
And my doctor takes that computer on holiday.
Then, it got stolen.
The doctor had forgotten to back-up his files. Not a one-time mistake - he did this over years, despite his vast experience as a doctor.
And no-one in the doctor's organisation ever checked those medical files - not once - so no-one knew that they didn't exist.
But why would anyone – including the other doctors – check my medical files? Or those of any other rider.
Fortunately, the organisation managed to wipe my doctor’s stolen computer remotely – the lord only knows how.
They could do that, but could not extract the data from it – the lord only knows how.
This organisation also got me a prescription from France and flew it to me here in Britain, even though there was a pharmacist down the road where I could buy it over the counter.
I also take a much, much stronger drug - which many people say I shouldn't take. I take this drug very sporadically - only three times in my life. Otherwise, I don't need it.
But I definitely needed it those three times in my life.
The doctor had a large supply of this drug at his surgery: 60-70 doses.
Far more than he needed for the doses that I was supposed to have taken.
So, I could have been taking those extra doses at different times – legally out of competition, but also I could have taken it in competition because as I had a note saying I was allowed to take the drug and so they'd never know if I took it more than once.
The note I got in 2011 was actually given to me before I even had the medical.
And in 2012, I took my special drug 6 weeks after my medical examination that it was based on.
But then who doesn’t wait a month and a half to take a drug they desperately need?
And I desperately needed it because before I had that medical note I was only able to win a week-long bike races up mountains against the best riders in the world by one minute.
Our riders have been noticeably thin and sickly for a number of years.
And they often perform much better than previously once they join our team.
I wonder how many others are taking my special drug and how often.
Lots of people who have also been involved with this organisation have said that they have been given or offered a few different drugs, which is all legal, so that's fine.
Maybe they were taking these extra doses of the extra strong drug too, which is legal out of competition.
But I've no idea, because we're a very disorganised bunch and we don't keep medical records – despite this being a legal requirement for doctors.
We even got some bad drugs delivered accidentally.
My doctor's poorly, so no-one can ask him what's going on.
But the General Medical Council probably will soon.
I think he might be a ‘rogue doctor’.
That might be what the boss decides – if he keeps his job.
They might have to blame the boss because once they get rid of him everyone will just assume that it’s all fine now and will stop
asking questions like ‘Who were the 60-70 doses of dangerous and performance-enhancing corticosteroids for – which and how many riders take them?’
The colleague I don’t like is really good now. He keeps talking about how he doesn’t take drugs and he wants to be tested more.
So, he must be innocent. Which is a shame because he is my enemy.
A lot of the drugs – corticosteroids (out of competition) and tramadol, for instance – are legal. That means they’re ok to take. Even though they have effects like damaging the immune system and causing dizziness (man, those descents in the Giro were difficult).
All I know is everything's absolutely fine and people should just trust us.
It’s all good for British cycling – look how many medals we’ve won.
And our team is great - look at that train! How are we so great!
