Psychoanalyzing someone based on the use or non use of strava may be the stupidest thing I've ever read on this forum. And by the way, I just learned from a friend that he does have a strava account that is not his name. He doesn't give a *** if random people know where and when he rides obviously.

He's been home in Colorado and doing a fair amount of riding. 🤷♂️
At last some concrete info. Team says he is been suffering from overtraining.
Well, he's been known to do crazy amounts of training loads since his junior days and during the off-season/when he is in the USA, so no surprise about that.
Overtraining is hard to put behind and from now he needs to be even more careful as relapses are easier to come by.

Not seeing anything about him. On his IG, he was in Quebec riding today.
What do you mean? He's been back racing since early August and even got a couple of half-decent results.
silent ban from his for what? he had some issues, then came back and raced Burgos, Getxo, Bretagne, Renewi.
he's on form, riding strong for his team and today they won with Mads.

I don’t share his worldview, and understand that it may turn some off, but there is no denying his engine and talent.
I do wonder if he might not be better suited to the US gravel scene. He might be the only rider who could consistently challenge Keegan S. , and I wonder if Trek’s money would be better spent letting him be a top racer of US gravel as opposed to a domestique? If he wins Leadville and/or Unbound, would that be more lucrative for Trek than him pulling for 100 km so Mads Pederson can win a reduced bunch sprint? He could do what Lachlan did for EF a few years ago and ride an “alternate” calendar, but I think Simmons would be better on the road and in gravel than Lachlan.

I was just speculating, it wouldn't be the first time he'd had a conflict with his team...
because of a twitter mishap with both sides over-reacting (he and the twitter users who half- rightly blasted him) his team had no other choice to "suspend" him. it was 4 years ago. he had no other problem. I know I'm biased cause I became a fan from that moment. he learnt to keep his mouth shut and pedal hard. I wish him all the best for the next races (and for November 5th)

Yeah he was barely 20 years old. His views may or may not have changed, but I don't hold ancient history against anyone.
Now, his pointless attack and bonehead crash in Strade Bianche is a different matter...
Id have picked Barta or Warbasse over Quinn but I guess Quinn has to be there as national champ.
