I never said this, you're putting words into my mouth, which seems to be an ongoing thing here. Go on with your buzzwords tho.

You're just completely ignoring the fact that a lot of these protest act like they are morally superior and say that everyone should act the same way. Whataboutism is annoying in a lot of discussions, but sometimes it is also just fair. It's given a negative connotation so that people simply can't use it in discussions ever, which is beyond stupid.
Whataboutism has never had a positive connotation. The very origin of the term presupposes it's a bad thing.

And of course these protesters give the idea that the issue they're protesting is the only, most pressing issue in the world today. That's more effective than saying "FREE GAZA, and oh yeah, there's also a lot of other stuff going on that you should care about. On the back of my banner you'll find a full list."

There were Palestinian flags to be seen. Whether people would have made the efort to turn up with them if IPT hadn't been participating, who knows?
Considering they've been waved around just about everywhere I'd say there's definitely a baseline that would have been there without IPT at the races. The specific anti IPT sentiment seems to be a really recent thing.

It seems to be rather consistent with the ongoing length and severity of the underlying problem, more escalations are hence IMHO warranted.

Meanwhile it is entirely inconsistent with the severity of many other problems.

Also, what escalation is warranted? Because all this escalation can strive to do is maybe a cycling team stops. Because if the aims of these specific protests go beyond that then we're literally talking about randomly trying to cancel an event entirely unrelated to the cause they're trying to protest.
