Mod comment: This thread was originally part of the "news about LA" thread, but has been split off as it started to take over. It deals with the appearance of the Anti-race Radio twitter account. It should make it easier to follow this particular discussion, or ignore it, depending on your interests and preferences. This thread was not started by Granville57, but his post is taken as the starting point for this off-shoot.
Mod comment 2: This thread is for the discussion of the reaction to a series of questions posed by Race Radio, you can access the questions from the following links:
Race Radio's questions to Livestrong
RR's questions in an alternate format
[Granville57 update as of Friday April 8th]
Here’s my attempt to sort out the great adventure of this thread so far:
IN THE BEGINNING...
In the May 2011 issue of Bicycling Magazine, long-time contributor and author of the recent book Tour de Lance, Bill Strickland wrote a feature article entitled Lance Armstrong’s endgame
Race Radio provided us with a link to the pdf of the entire cover story
The main thrust of the article is Strickland coming to terms with his own belief that Armstrong did, in fact, dope during his career. This essay generated a firestorm of controversy including several heated exchanges in the “comments” below the article on bicycling.com Among the people posting comments were some regular CN forum members. Conflicts that developed during these exchanges, and the people involved (on both sides) laid the groundwork for some of the content of this thread.
As stated above, it all started here:
Official "another interesting piece I found on Lance Armstrong" Thread
Post # 382 The Bicycling discussion begins
Post # 520 Reference to direct attacks on Race Radio
There’s a certain amount of overlap between that thread and the one here but for those who are ambitious enough, there’s some good info to be had.
What also came to light was the presence of a new twitter account AntiRaceRadio, with an obvious connection to much of what is frequently discussed in The Clinic. Speculation as to who was behind this particular campaign began in earnest. Lines were drawn, sides were taken, and the battle grounds of twitter and bicycling.com began to take shape.
Discussion of these events lead to the formation of this thread.
