Rafal? ...MAJKA!!! Rafal? MAJKA!!! Rafal? MAJKAAA!:)
Polish are happy,congrats Rafal!

Really nice ride in this entire race. Today he really had to Work Hard to get there. Bjarne picked a real nice one here. This kid is going to be a GT contender someday :).

Go damn it, he held on! I went on holidays so was driving during TT. Can't believe he went so strong. And 1st chekpoint is showing that he can actually be decent TT rider when rested. Still, won a Tour de POlogne as first Polish rider in 11 years (also won a stage as first rider in decade). Really impressive, and I am happy for him, organizers, and Polish fans.

His interviews start sounding cocky though. I think it's more of a sign of him trying to boost confidence and get over his issues that were mentioned by Kroon and himself, rather than going from one end to the other. To be fair though, recent results also validate those responses

Majka showed sprinting, climbing and time trailing skills in this tour. I would never say someone will win a grand tour in the future because it is too hard to predict. You would have to say though that Majka has as much chance as anyone else.

I agree he has as much chance as anyone else ....very good at climbing and reads a race well ....However there is soemthing about him I find difficult to like ......his dramtic endings, the winking, the faces....needs to stay calm as there is along way to go in cycling ad not get ahead of himself

I think he is a possible GT winner because i think he has the mentality...focused, assured and a bit selfish/ruthless

From interview with Majka:

He will ride Colorado, but not as a leader, but as a domestique. That will be his last race of a season.

I guess Rogers is the leader, then.

Who had Majka to beat? Top 10: Izagirre, Intxausti, Riblon, Niemiec, Amador, Deignan, Gesink, Nerz, Vakoc. Not a single one of them is even a contender for GT's.

But Aru who is a credible GT-rider was not even in contention...

Yes, but first of all Majka is not a big star in cycling yet as Wiggins were when he won the ToB. Secondly, Wiggins and Majka are different types of riders. All Wiggins had to do was follow the others, not lose too much time and then smash them in the tt. He did nothing that everyone didn't know beforehand that he could do. Whereas Majka had to be aggressive and make the racing. Besides that he also showed a very good punch on the uphill sprint and good tt ability, to points where he hasn't shown much previously.

Yes I know that. But you can't deny that his opponents wheren't as strong as they would be in a GT. Neither in the mountains, nor in the TT. So I find it hard to make him a GT-contender (yet). He is a huge talent for sure though. With the right developement he can reach that level. And with Contador by his side it should make things a lot easier.

Riding in a team with Tom Boonen and Niki Terpstra makes things much easier for me. They can teach me and so I learn faster. If others need 2 or 3 years to understand riding on cobbles, I had it down in a year.
(Essentially that is what he said)

Majka has the same benefit with Contador.

If Aru is a credible GT rider than Majka should be considered one. Aru only finished 3 minutes ahead of Majka in the Giro. Yes he did better but not by enough to say that he is credible and Majka is not.
