Hi guys,

Together with 6 friends we held an auction to get our own 7 fantasy teams for this TDF. We will get points according to the biggest danish tour manager game:

For each stage: 175, 150, 125, 100, 95, 94, 93 etc(...)
GC (after each stage): 50, 40, 30, 20, 10
Green Jersey (after each stage): 50, 40, 30, 20, 10
Polkadot Jersey (after each stage): 50, 40, 30, 20, 10
Team Competition (after each stage): 20, 15, 10, 7, 4

I think it would be cool if someone of you would take a look at our teams, and rate them. Which one(s) are the stronges, and which one are the weakest. You can also see the price of each rider, so if you wanna tell which rider are overprices and which ones were too cheap, feel free to tell as well.

Hard scoring system to tame. At first glance, since you don't get points for finishing positions, just end of the day, and green is worth as much as yellow, it seems heavily biased towards the sprinters?

However if i see that correctly you get 70 points for finishing 30th on the stage, 60 for 40th. That means gc guys will be scoring points even on sprints but sprinters wont be on mountains.

So I dont know. Froome Sagan and Cav seem to be the best picks. But since team leaders will always get those extra 1 or 2 points here and there that matters too. All teams seem very evenly matched actually, but if i had to choose Id go for A since that looks to me like the team with the fewest pure domestiques (ie most riders who are likely to have a free role)

Scoring seems to lean towards GC riders, so A is the strongest IMO.

Purito
Moreno
Pinot
Rolland

...plus Degenkolb might end up featuring in a lot of finishes because Kittel may be dropped quite easily.

D and E also look good but less bankable.

It leans towards gc riders who are high in classifications from the start. All 4 of those guys are mediocre tters and the 3 big mountain stages come at the end after the tts. So these riders are in danger of not scoring any gc points until the last 2 days.

That's overly pessimistic. The first time you can predict who'll be high in the GC is after the TTT, then after stages 8 and 9, and only then will it favour the ITTists. for the TTT a team with 2 Katusha guys, an OPQS and a Garmin will do very nicely, thank you.

Actually having looked more closely at the scoring maybe E will win. Particularly if Evans is good ofc. Cav for stages and Green , Porte and Evans for GC, Anton and Nieve potentially for KOM, Martin and Kessiakoff for the ITT stages. Good candidates for all the jerseys and many stages.

Be interesting to see who's leading: the Froome team, the Berto Kittel or the Purito Rolland Gerrans.
