I thin the problem is not the TTT, but the lack of kilometers of the first ITT and the strange ( because it is the 100th edition) and bad last stage to Semnoz.

Only with 15 km more in the ITT nad with a legendary mountain stage as the last one and the tour would have been different.

Another possibility in relation to ITT could have been repiting the 1989 Versalles Paris ITT, and you habe history and more ITT km.

My rate is a 5/6. By the way in spite that I like the Pyrenees I´d like to say that they should innovate in th stage of Bonascre, it is always the same.......at least Garavel or things like that.

That challenges him? I actually think he'd like that.

I see his (relatively) strength as:
ITTs when under 40-50 km (prefers them hilly)
Recovery
Consistency
Climbing

'Weaknesses':
Endurance (amongst the reasons why he won't ever win L-B-L)
Long flat ITT
Placing in a bunch (another reason why he won't win in the Ardennes)

Of course his opponents isn't great in everything either, and if his main competitor was Wiggo, Bert would of course prefer long multi-mountain stages. And against Andy and other climbers he would prefer lots of flat ITT. But climbing wise I think that he is far stronger than Andy on a 125 km MTF stage (like stage 20), and more equal (if not weaker) than/to Andy on a stage like this year's Stelvio.
