Threads long overdo with the forum having been down. So how do you rate this years Tour?

I give it an 8, We had some good spectacle overall. -1 for Froomes dominance, -1 for no long range attacks and Contador sucking.

Went for an 8. Stages were exiting, GC win was... well... Sorry for Valverde. He did show he could very well be in the GC discution if it wasn't for the windy stage. Glad for Mollema to get riped tho. :D j.k.

Not a bad tour at all. Much better than the Giro. Some good sprint action as well with 4 guys duking it out. That champs finish was awesome with Kittel, Cav, and Greipel going mano e mano (e mano). Also went 8.

8. We got an expectly best climber Froome and Quintana who will probably be handled like genuine delight for anyone that dislikes Sky. Ax 3 and Ventoux stages are doomed to ingrain in minds forever. Denifitely that's the days we all follow the sport by and large. Andy somehow spoilt my general impression but all the best is in the future for him.

No.

The crosswind stage was far better.

I'm absolutely sure 90% of fans follow for the stages like Etna, Verbier or Mont Ventoux since they conceal maximum of intrigue and minimum of tactics.

'Crosswinds' were a gesture of desperation. A real maillot jaune candidate doesn't fight like that.

So you dislike tactics?

What surprised me most of all is Froome is able to gain 20 sec per km on a good day on MTF. Very interesting what route ASO could offer to reduce his chances in a way.

Courageous race in the mountains, actions begin before 6-7 km to the summit. I'll go for a 9.

30s to Kreuziger.

I didn't watch that stage because of obviousness of outcome. Apparently Froome was descending like Basso from San Carlo.

Well ok. Do you find a crosswinds move a showing of tactics?

I enjoyed it a great deal.
The teams seemed to actually make a race of far more stages than is typical.

Cannondale driving all day to get Sagan a win on Stage 7.
Garmin grabbing stage 9 out of the chaos they pushed for (why oh why did the others not try harder when they had Froome isolated).
The Echelons in Stage 13.
Riblon taking the Alpe stage (though I was yelling for Tejay to do it), Froome showing weakness with his sugar bonk.
Quintana showing his class again and again, but finally getting his stage win the day before Paris.

Then the Champs Sprint.

A real maillot jaune candidate attacks in the feed area if he feels like it. Wait.. this is so 80's most posters here weren't even born to watch.

I gave it a 6/10. Froome's dominance killed the race for me. Also, I barely remember any positive things so I would've liked to vote even lower.
I ran the above through Google translate:

I gave it a 6/10. Contador didn't dominate(or even win) so I didn't like it. Even though there were lots of interesting stages Alberto didn't really figure so more marks off.

Apparently you don't unless Sky is the team initiating the aggression. Taking advantage of crosswinds by forcing the peloton into echelons has long been an integral part of racing. If it gains your team an advantage it's just as pertinent as the time gained by dropping your rivals in the mountains.
