3, i dont like it at all but Andy is one of my favorite riders and they basically handed it to him so not that terrible... Gero seems like it will be the one to watch next year, again...

I gave it a 7... Probably closer to a 7.5 in my book, but voting 8 would be too high.

BTW, ACF, I hope you're not a journalism student, because this poll doesn't exactly seem objective :p:p:p

When I am emotional I become irrational with my posts.:D

I like it, as someone wanting to go out there and watch the alps stages leave bourg d'oisans as a perfect base, campsite already booked :)

And I think route is good, four mtf, I like it

The finish is really good imho. However some first week GC shakeup would have been nice, as it is i am afraid some ofthe stages will be too conservative.

So it gets 7 from me, better first week would easily push it up to 8 and maybe 9.

of course le tour is good,i'd watch it even there will be 16 stages for cavendish.but i don't like this year's course at all.i gave it a 2.let's face it,the stage to luz ardiden it will be like this year's stage to morzine.first tough stage,no one will attack untill the last kilometre just to see how the other contenders feel.so the first battle just stage 14 to plateau de beille.that's a no no for me.plus i'd want way more classic like stages and at least a 25 km ITT before the pyrenees.

Cav is no certainty to win a bunch of stages, he stuffed up a few sprints early on in the tour and in the Vuelta, and I don't see what's wrong with having a real dominant sprinter in the sport.

Did you really think Evans would ever be able to repeat his 2nd place, or even win the thing? No, no, no. Evans is a great rider, but you know it won't happen. So why not embrace an entertaining parcours, rather than one tailor made for Cadel?

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Morzine stage was easily the best mountain stage of 2009. Armstrong had a nightmare, Wiggins got dropped, Evans took yellow, Schleck outclimbed Contador. It was drama all the way!!!! It was certainly better than both Tourmalet stages.

But this year the two MTF's in the pyrenees will probably be more interesting than the Alpine MTF's.

is this fail so 1 is a good tour, 10 is a fail tour
or are we rating it out of ten so ten is good and one is bad?

im confused by the question

Honestly Prudhomme.... What is wrong with riders who have Time Trial abilities?? I mean, the mountains should be good this year, but it doesn't allow the most complete rider to win the tour. Soon AS and Rodriguez will be tour champs and the Menchovs of the world will suffer for it. Sad.

The way things are going

I'm having the same issues

Maybe we just vote a 5 and leave it at that?

I have the same issue too. In hindsight 5 would have been the most logical thing to vote - you cover both bases, though not very well.

I voted 7, but now I'm beginning to wonder what exactly that 7 means. I mean one of the selling points of tacking on 'epic' to the word fail is that the understanding of that failure is beyond doubt and unambiguous. Have I indeed failed if I can't understand where the 'epic' failure within the poll exactly lies? Or is this poll some kind of zen-koan which is supposed to break the ties to normal, everyday rationality? It is all so very unclear to me.

I reckon that right now Wigans is the happiest man on the planet. He now has a great excuse for his inevitable failure at the Tour next year. There are so few TT kilometers that he will be able to get away with not focusing on the TdF.

As for the route in general, it looks like the typical crap Tour route. We will all be laughing at it after the Giro is announced.

Btw acf you shouldn't be too upset about the TTT.

BMC shouldn't lose more than 30s to GC rivals. Evens, Big George, GvA and Phinney (he should ride the first 10 stages) are a solid platform. Quinziato and Santaromita know how to do TTTs, coming from a well drilled squad. If you get The Canc you will probably beat teams like Schlux, Katusha and Leakygas.

The 2011 TTT should be less of a screw-up than the 2009 Tour-ruiner, unless Levi shows up with his sights set on victory and the hog's men win by 3minutes.

Voted 7 ... does not look that bad

Whats missing for me?

- Cobbles
- Super long stage
- Time bonuses
- Uphill ITT
- Intl flavor
- Some kind of surprise/excitement

7. not exactly a fail but somewhere close.
Andy in yellow sounds good for me:D but it will be so much better if he actually fights for it.

I think it's a pretty great route.

Positive:
Summit finish at Galibier - epic
Alpe d'Huez and Galibier in 1 stage
No Prologue!!!

Negative:
Passage du Gois ... RIP Alex Zülle
