Can't help myself. Apologies. I probably even got my timeline wrong.

I am impressed by Barry's comments and yet again he pulls in the UCI and 'sport image protection' plus very valid comments regarding an over zealous points system and proportionatly long racing season. Despite his back ground his comments are real world based and very valid.
I'm not really impress actually. He now wants to save the world, and few weeks ago here in Montreal, he didn't do a speech or hinted anything when he had the opportunity. To me, he's just a politician in the making.

Ohhhhh riiiiiight.

So the season is too long, except for squeaky clean Team Sky. There's lots of people doping a little bit but the clean riders are dominating them all season long.

Man. Something doesn't sound right in all this.

what are you talking about? sky faded hard in the end of this season. froome is an excellent example. how do you compare this to us epostal and how they after an incredible tour would still thrash the vuelta?

Does anybody know to whom this tweet is address to?

Dany Pate:
"Most real role models don't go around telling people they r role models, so I thought I would name a couple I have seen in cycling. Kirk Willett, Brice Jones, Jonas Carney, John Tomac, Alex Candelario, Jim Copeland, Jeremy Powers, Evelyn Stevens, Svein Tuft, John Peters, Randy Whicker, Clark Sheehan, Burke Swindlehurst . You have anymore names?"

landis got sick in that vuelta. not even doping helps then I guess. heras outdone by leipheimer? 2001 you mean? they were in same team. don't know reasons of heras fading though. in general us epostal would ride incredibly well at the vuelta and sky didn't exactly. or have before. they started doping this year all of a sudden??

I see what you mean. They really faded bad towards the end of the season. Hopeless. No way are they keeping their PT license.

what are you talking about? sky faded hard in the end of this season. froome is an excellent example. how do you compare this to us epostal and how they after an incredible tour would still thrash the vuelta?

So funny to see you desperately defending Sky from any 'attack' only because they have two Colombians on board. You're Dutch man, grow up and get a life.

to me voigt was always doped in his 2004-2006 csc years. I'll never forget those ridiculous tour of germany's with him outclimbing leipheimer, ullrich and such

You know, this is probably the biggest damage that Armstrong and his ridiculous doping scheme have done to the sport. Now every rider has been doped, no matter what.

Did Jens dope? Possible. Did he not dope? Just as possible as well. How can we know? We don't have proof. Jens at least has shown something that many dopers didn't display. Whenever he pulled one of those crazy attacks, he usually rode complete crap for one or to days afterwards. Remember that one time, where he rode into the yellow jersey at the tour with a crazy-**** attack? Next day he was so spent, he didn't make the time cut and had to abandon. That hardly sounds like someone, who recharges with "the oil".

Also, using his two Deutschland-Tour wins as an example for doping is utterly ridiculous. The Deuschland-Tour always had exactly one mountain finish and the rest were mainly sprinters stages or time trials and the mountains were always rather modest in contrast to the tour. The Deutschland-Tour hase rarely seen cat 1's, let alone HC mountains. Jens has always been know for being able to do decently on a single medium mountain stage on sheer power, usually costing him next day. He won in 2006 and 2007. The KOM winner in '06 had 20 points, so it wasn't exactly a romp through the Alps. In 2007 there was also only one half-arsed mountain stage - the rest was flat and Jens won because his team won the TTT, he only lost 11 secs on the mountain stage and then won the (shortish) ITT. He's always done well in short to medium length ITTs.

Does that prove he didn't dope? No. Neither does it prove he did. What I give him credit for, however, is that his achievements never looked unbelievable, like that crazy-**** "comeback" Floyd Landis staged, when he "won" the tour.

I don't like it that all riders are now labelled cheaters. I find that unfair toward the few, who didn't do the juice. Maybe he did ****, but there is not much in the way of proof, so we shouldn't label everybody a cheat, only because Armstrong and his cronies were.

In a recent interview with the CBC, Michael Barry said that he knew of no more than twelve riders who were clean during his entire pro career.
I highly doubt Jens was one of them.
Read Tyler's account of an encounter he had with Jen's in the Secret Race and read Jens reaction to the book.
Jens has omerta keeper written all over him.
