RedheadDane's Cycling Christmas Calendar - 4th Edition

Page 2 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
Yeah, sorry. I think lots of people will disagree. One-day races - especially Monuments - are bigger than GT stages.

Sorry, but no. GTs and especially the Tour are what most people know pro road cycling for, the rest is specialization. So omission of GTs is a weird choice but OK it's your calendar and hence your choice. That i guess happens when you break your own rules. Ultimately you don't get a Christmas gift.

Said that Merry Christmas to all and i do wonder if Santa delivered this calendars riding a bike.

An example on how an unbiased calendar could look like.

Christmas Calendars tend to only include, you know... December. In fact, only the first 25* days.

*Well, or 24.

Yeah it's a rather strange calendar in the first place. That indeed could explain omission of some cycling superstars. Then again if we talk from the Christmas point of view and if we take the idea of togetherness, on including people important to you, that could i guess explain it. Considering it's your Christmas calendar i guess we can all assume on who you would and would not invite to Christmas dinner.

Fair point.

A Christmas calendar that runs the entire year would be strange. And the reason for the omission of some of the cycling superstars is that they didn't win a WT one-day race (or Worlds, or Olympics).

Honestly, I don't know why I stuck to the "Corresponding Dates" thing for so long. Not only did it mean I had to include some random stages that weren't really all that memorable, it also meant that I sometimes had to exclude major one-day races.
In fact, my original plan for this year was to include the pictures, but still do the "Corresponding Dates" thing, which meant that I would have had to leave out De Ronde! Can you imagine?

Of course, a major flaw was the fact that it was rather biased towards the men... I'll try to fix that for next year.

OK but why are they cycling superstars then in the first place? If one day races are of such importance in pro cycling that Christmas is all about them. This one is still left unanswered. So if next year Rogla wins a one day race and no GTs, he will be included, winning two GTs and no one day race event, he won't? To be on the safe side winning a GT, week long stage race and an one day one. That should do it? Asking for a friend.

Create your own calendar. I like @RedheadDane's.

To be fair, I don't think Roglic, or anyone really, actually care about featuring in my Cycling Christmas Calendar.
