It’s not an info easily obtainable here. I didn’t know your gender as I don’t know gender of 95% of this forum. I can deduce from account name but that’s not reliable. So I too use “they” unless I can remember a user declaring themselves a certain gender. It has nothing to do with being woke - it’s just not knowing a user that much…

I know @SHAD0W93 is a "he", as we have interacted a lot over many years. For most of the veterans here, I either know their gender or that they conceal it. So I too use "they" when referring to @Libertine Seguros, but never for @Gigs_98. Not only because it's the most used gender-neutral pronoun for such cases, but because they use it too for others. Had they instead used the gender-neutral "he" for others, I'd have referred to them as him.

You can of course defend to always use "they" whenever someone hasn't declared their pronouns and link to a dictionary to show it's a valid usage, but then I don't want to hear any complaints about gender-neutral "he" used for everyone who hasn't declared his pronouns as well.

For you, my best guess would be that you are a "he".

I'd expect @RedheadDane to be annoyed if I referred to her as him, even if my usage was gender-neutral.

Sounds good, I figured “he” but had been up the last 16 hrs and played it safe with “they”. Especially considering all shift at work we have to use “they”, so it becomes a habit. I didn’t mean any ill intent by it.
