In Lombardy, it's all against Pogacar :tearsofjoy:
At the World Cup, I´m sorry, but if Roglic was a domestique in Zurich, what do you think he'll be like in Rwanda?

It's possible he won't participate this year, citing fatigue. I think Wout will do the same in Belgium

In the TDF, it's possible to see Remco vs. Roglic for third place.

Each time Rogla participated at Lombardia the outcome was better, last attempt finishing third. At Worlds Pogi can go solo again, if desired, Rogla can seat at Remcos wheel just fine. Having all bases covered. Then if Rogla wins in sprint i wouldn't necessary call Pogi a domestique. In national selections this is much more loose and the most important thing is to have your finest crop there, once we had it we got a world champion, prior to that we failed. So i doubt a mistake, on leaving the best ones at home, will ever be repeated. I am sure that Pogi will help Rogla if the situation will demand for it, fatigue likely playing a role indeed, not just for Rogla. For example i don't believe anymore that Pogi will do Vuelta in 2025 season, especially considering he already peaked for this season and still has Tour and a plethora of other shorter races to do. As for the Tour, Rogla was a runner up already, the goal is hence to do better this season. So if Remco is up to that, fine, so be it, otherwise Remco can try to tackle Jonas this season, for podium.

TDF is undecided, but Worlds and Lombardia will go to Evenepoel in normal circumstances

When it comes to national campaign i feel the main contenders will likely indeed be Slovenia and Belgium. As for Lombardia, this season Rogla will likely even train for it.

Throught this was nice to see, Roglic supporting Remco after his crash yesterday.

I mean, teammates support one another, right? 🤣

No real rivalry this time. They're set to be teammates next year and together they can rule the world.

What a disappointment yet again.. Rog managed to stay on the bike but Remco dnf.. this rivalry was sorely missing this tour, Lipo vs Onley simply doesn't cut it. And now if transfer rumors are true we will never have the opportunity again.

They didn't fight for a third place because they weren't good enough, no bad luck involved

What some people say (specially Roglic fans) is Roglic is a better GT talent and rider than Remco is and will ever be. I can't disagree on that to be honest. At least until now.

That's not even a question. Roglič is by far better 3 weeks and 1 week GT racer. Until now, because Remco still has time to improve in both types of races and Roglič is close to retirement. With Roglič there will always be "what if", because he started so late and had many setbacks.

If you look at 1 day races, Remco is by far better racer. Roglič won couple, so he's not that bad, but Remco has basically won them all (almost).

That's why i don't understand why push Remco in GT racing where he drops like a stone and cries later. Just let him rip apart 1 day races and maybe get him into 1 week races more. Maybe sponsors and team are pushing towards GTs for the money and exposure, but why not let him stage hunt there?

I tend to agree that Rogla is not a generational talent, due to him being a multi generational talent. As for the rest, should we just merge the threads? Together much much more pages compared to Pogi involved.

Who is pushing Remco in GT racing? It's Remco's dream to win all races at leats once. So that includes Giro and TDF.

I agree that he could take the MVDP approach, and focus on 1-day racing and stage hunting. He could easily win 4 stages in each GT like that, but it would be a waste of his talents because he can win the whole race.
