Does anyone else remember getting their very first bike on Christmas morning?
From the deep recesses of my memory I was surprised that the name Apollo Racer jumped out at me. This must've been the early 1970's and I still vividly remember being the first one down the stairs and finding this gem waiting for me in front of the tree.
As I recall it was orange with a banana seat and 'coaster' brakes. One mean machine. That banana seat meant room for two, which meant my friends and I put that thing to the test as often as possible! Long before any of the terms were known to us, we had one bike to do it all—road, mountain, cyclocross, bmx: Apollo Racer!
I just did a search and came up with a couple of pics (not mine) and a video of quite possibly the greatest bike ever made!

Did anyone buy a bike for a kid this Christmas?
