It is possible that they will be granted a temporary license during the appeal.

Vegni has talked with Cookson, and apparently he has been told that it will all be finished before the Giro begins (though I don't get how Cookie would be able to guarantee that).

Astana will still technically have a licence all be it a continental one. Which means Colombia may get to ride the giro after all.

Martinelli should've done talks long ago, shouldn't he?

So it will either be a totally new, Italian team or he may just take Fabio, his son and maybe some other lieutenants and jump into Sky, CCC-Sprandi or maybe even Lampre.

Sky Italia wants Aru at Sky and Brailsford wants nothing to do with Martinelli.

Presumably the Kazakh riders would be too toxic for any western team to pick up. But that still leaves ~15 good cyclists worthy of WT contracts.

If Sky Italia spends some extra paycheck money there would be no need for them to get along.

Sky UK usually isn't to bothered with Italy anyway. So there would be room for an Italian section, theoratically!

I hope Nibali rides the tour, it's dumb if he doesn't.

He should be able to defend his title.

Contador deserves to destroy him after all

Poor Nibs. If the worst happens where will he go?

I think Lampre is the only real option available, if they can afford him and a couple of others.

I hope BSkyB says no, and Aru does not sign for Sky
Lampre KAtusha and others will be glad to have him
Nibali.... Etixx?
well, all that if they lose their license

Birdsong to Cult-Energy would be nice :D

license being revoked or not later on, there is no doubt that Astana as Pro-Tour team won't happen next year. Will they remain as a Pro Conti? Can they retain their best riders if that occurs?

Nibbs and Aru are certain to leave, but the trouble will be for the rest of the crew and the rest of the employees to find work elsewhere,(at least at Pro Tour level) having in mind the current economical state of Europe & the few spots available to fill when the transfer season begins.

Can they morph into a different brand? will they fusion with another team to brush off the "shadows"?

and the most important question: Will Vino fight it out against the UCI or will he step down for good and let Astana sink?

Mergers with IAM or MTN would certainly make either of those teams look a lot stronger (presuming MTN will be paid to take Astana's WT place)

Astana get what they deserve I'm afraid. Should've been suspended from the start of the season though.

LOL.

What makes you think that the new organization won't do the same or worse. Have you seen other sports federations?

Well isn't this just great. *** twats at UCI, let's remake the whole structure behind the sport. Remove those wankers, and start from scratch.
So you support teams being able to do what ever it takes to win?

I support a fair playing field.
