So, by your analysis, Froome really doesn't need a team at all. He'll just use other teams and ride away when he's tired of waiting for everyone.

Hopefully you just forgot the :rolleyes: emoticons.

If the other team is dumb enough to ride tempo, then no he doesn't need his own team. Sadly I don't think he can rely on that continuing.

Partying in the middle of a Grand Tour :D. Just imagine how Ferrari would react (not saying Ferrari works for Sky) to that.

Funniest part of Tyler Hamilton's books is his description of what a nightmare it was to eat in front of the guy.

Every single morsel that went into Hamilton's mouth was greeted by a witheringly critical from Ferrari look across the table.... Impossible to eat in comfort in front of the guy. Ha, ha!

(BTW: Kiryienka must have hit the nightclubs particularly hard Sat. night :D).

So what is going on with Porte?
Didnt finish in the first group today. I doubt he would be chilling before the ITT because Dawgstrong could have used another teammate up there

Its like someone programmed him back down to pre Sky levels after the Ax3 farce

Porte is a method actor. Wants to make his drop in form look authentic.

i don;t think he will do anything spectacular tomorrows ITT

what he says is just smoke

he will conserve for the mountain stages, cause if Froome is left alone again many of their riders will have wage cuts or layoffs soon.

Back to full *** again. Guess that means the theory that he was faking on the day after Ax3 seems more plausible?

Check his last TT. Whatever happened the day after Ax3 defies Sky's grand tour squad performance norms.

We've got 2012, and now half of 2013 with fantastic (fantasy) power and consistency destroying stage racing fields. And then that stage where Kieryieko(sp???) vanishes and Porte goes backwards.

Mutant ride today.

I must say that Froome (Toussuire last year) and Porte are pretty much the only guys I've seen who are able to bridge back/attack after getting dropped/falling to the back. That's really a sight to behold and unfortunately brings back bad memories of 2008 with Ricco and Piepoli although they made it look less obvious...which is saying a lot!

Incredible ride today. At least try not to make it too obvious Richie!

He's been the best dom in the race by miles (sorry Mick). Make that the best dom in the race for a few years, probably the best since Cance/Voigt in 08'

Porte is gonna go full alien next year by the looks of it.
:D

seriously though.
Sky could so easily have done a 1-2 in the GC.
would have loved to hear walsh et al. explain that away.

I was thinking about it a couple days- The SKY management is currently having a hard time to keep Froome's "clean record" alive, so he will be "asked" to take a year off where Porte will take over & smash the Tour while the Alien trashes Il Giro & La Vuelta- then a year after they'll swap roles and so on....

What "hard time" are they having ? Still squeaky clean AFAIK other than the blatant "gel" cheating today.

So, he destroys the field again then his boss considers he can go alone but suddenly he has a panic attack. Richie comes quickly back asks what's going on then goes back and gets some food then comes back to his boss. Then he paces Froome to the finish. All of this on Alpe D'Huez.

Nice summary. Where did you pull some of that information from?
