I saw that too.

Made me giggle.

Chasing down Quintana like he did after setting the pace, how is that possible, it is not like Quintana is not one of the best climbers in the world or anything. Rocket fuel is very good for sky this tour, very good because undoubtedly the rest have some good stuff as well but Sky seemed to have got the mix perfect this time.

Marginal Gains®. You just can't fake it, when you've got it.

obviously being back in the team hotel has shown LRP the error of his ways at the Giro and normal service has resumed.
expect the post Ax3 ride with suitable time lost - clearly it won't be by DB's decree either

Why? He's 45 minutes back this time, not 2nd on GC. He can go full ret@rd every stage from here on in now.

He has been rolling in on every stage while Quintana has had to fight for every second, he has been hiding in the peloton waiting for the mountains, that is his job. He was not on the front for long before Froome attacked, Thomas did the bulk of the work. Porte did the same in 2013. Valverde did not help Quintana at all. Movistar's tactics were ***. Porte did not complete the Giro and soft pedaled for a few days after his chances were gone and he hurt his knee. Contador's fatigue is more understandable.

So it should be expected that Porte should be the first sky bot to be dropped. After all he didn't even compete this year at all.

Supposedly (...) Richie is not the brightest pickle in the jar.

But what do I know.

Nah you're right there.

LRP is not only Tasmanian, but Northern Tasmanian, which is about as intellectually challenged as you'll find outside of the US Deep South.

As an Australian with Tasmanian relatives, I feel entitled to point this out :D

Lol omg. Nationalism can justify anything.

If Porte hasn't been fighting for every second and is 44 minutes down then that also means hr had no motivation. Quintana was fighting for gc, needed to go as far into the pain barrier as he could. Porte is down on gc and couldn't even get the stage since froome was in front.

Porte pisses me off 100x more than froome. We know froome is on the rarest special stuff of this generation. That Ritchie smug guy even on everything should have just sat back to respect the sport. The sport has been decimated by these cretins

Whats LRP on then?

He's on his bike, busting his ass six hours a day... What are you on?

Etc. :D

Porte just said on ITV he was dropping back in the peloton and got the call on the radio to chase after Quintana.

So basically he had the power to just catch Quintana at will despite deliberately giving him a headstart.
Interestingly, that also shows Sky's domestiques will softpedal even when they're among the very strongest. To keep things plausible?
