So... He's out now.
Hardly a surprise.
Motivation gone, time to "prepare" for le tour

that's the best thing he could do. no point in continuing.
get outta here, rest body and mind a bit, and prepare for July.

I agree. Back to the lab...

That's the thing...

The lab does not seem to fix his problems... Nor is it bad luck (or poor decision) repellant...

Also I wonder if brailsford will arrange a UCI rule-set seminar for his TDF team..

Another marginal gain?

Obviously hind sight is 20/20, and there were extenuating circumstances this year, but for me this is putting a bit of a nail in the coffin of those that have argued in the past that Porte showed GT ability in 2010, coming 7th at the Giro.

1 week good.
2 weeks gone.

RIP LRP

If the naysayers ever wanted a better demonstration of the importance of marginal gains, this is it. One missed warm down, that's all it takes.

I Guess That's Cycling, It's a Cruel Sport: "I couldn’t warm down after that stage and had a terrible time trial the day after,” he said.

I think you are totally garbling the context of that quote.

'When you crash it depends on how your body comes out of it. My knee is not so good and my hip too. I knew that as soon as I had to get on Kiryienka’s bike in Jesolo. I couldn’t warm down after that stage and had a terrible time trial the day after,' Porte said.

Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

He probably should've renewed with Sky back when they were keen enough to rent him a motorhome, rather than insisting on waiting until after the Giro.

It is important to gaze deep into the alphabet to stay centered on the narrative of marginal gains.

Furthermore Sky's resident psychiatrist is of the opinion that given the degree to which the motor home has been anthropomorphized, Richie's complex relationship with it has been elevated to special status, and any further mockery should prompt either a report to the Moral Harassment Tribunal or perhaps a move to Ireland ("… or else have a banana").

I admit I found the implosion of Richie's Giro bid hilarious as well as sad. One day you have Brailsfraud pontificating on the virtues of motorhomes, even allowing selected journalists to enter the sacred sanctuary of the Sky Leader provided they wash their hands first, and the next he appears to be unable to cope with rare problems such as punctures and getting spare bikes to the team leader. And then the great Australian time triallist produces the worst test against the clock in the modern clean era and the day after he explodes in the mountains and quits. There is a lesson there.

The fact that Brailsford continues to put so much emphasis on such a weak marginal gain as washing hands, sounds to me like he's still trying to convince people marginal gains exists.

I mean washing hands isn't even a gain. Its just a way of trying to prevent a loss. But how many top gt guys actually lost a grand tour because of some germs?

Ouch, does the motorhome have the ability to get him home to Tasmania?

i am concerned that LRP has not been adequately consoled? he might have started junking on junk food and fosters.

can anyone allay my fears that LRP is lacking in cursory consolations?

i mean, Sir Dave will sit in a dank Biarritz gendarme cell with davey boy rockstar millar, cant he atleast go round to monaco and simmer a chicken soup for LRP. chicken soup qualifies for marginal gains. hold his hand sir dave.be a man.

anychance a moderator can change the thread title to LRP - what do we know about him? it is technically correct to change it. i am a stickler for exactness. like a nuclear development setting type quality accuracy
