Team Sky lab has taken LRP as far as it can. He has hit the wall.

Obviously hind sight is 20/20, and there were extenuating circumstances this year, but for me this is putting a bit of a nail in the coffin of those that have argued in the past that Porte showed GT ability in 2010, coming 7th at the Giro.

I admit I found the implosion of Richie's Giro bid hilarious as well as sad. One day you have Brailsfraud pontificating on the virtues of motorhomes, even allowing selected journalists to enter the sacred sanctuary of the Sky Leader provided they wash their hands first, and the next he appears to be unable to cope with rare problems such as punctures and getting spare bikes to the team leader. And then the great Australian time triallist produces the worst test against the clock in the modern clean era and the day after he explodes in the mountains and quits. There is a lesson there.

The fact that Brailsford continues to put so much emphasis on such a weak marginal gain as washing hands, sounds to me like he's still trying to convince people marginal gains exists.

I mean washing hands isn't even a gain. Its just a way of trying to prevent a loss. But how many top gt guys actually lost a grand tour because of some germs?

i am concerned that LRP has not been adequately consoled? he might have started junking on junk food and fosters.

can anyone allay my fears that LRP is lacking in cursory consolations?
