Really poor by him indeed. He rode some really good TT's this year, most notably the dutch national TT where he really rode a great TT.
Guess he's passed his best form.

Nothing against the fans who are always enthusiastic. But US races always make for dull viewing for me. Massive wide-open roads, endlessly going through nowhere

What the hell is up with Moser? Doesn't do *** all year (besides winning a sprint in an incredibly weak sprint field in Austria) but due the World Championships he is suddenly really good? Dont give me too high hopes regarding the road race, Moreno.

Did the wind change? The guys going past the first check now are all doing bad times and the guys finishing now are all improving at the finish

There was some talk of the tailwind disappearing and thus favouring earlier riders, but conflicting reports.

Nope. I think it's rather matter of different pacing. Jan Barta's time kind of confirms it.
