He worked very hard that winter in the ITT, and he hada big otiuvation with the ITT of the Giro.. but anyway I admit it is quite odd.

As I said in another thread he looked quite relaxed in the finish line lloking at his face.

But his chances in the Giro needs a very good ITT. Other way very difficult.

Uran has a decent team this time around him for Giro. But i don't believe he'll be a contender for the overall win despite his claims that he can do it this year.A top 5 result would be good enough. To get more from this Giro he needs a godly TT like in 2014 which i doubt he can replicate.

Dombrowski ain't looking good either. It's to be seen whether Cannondale's gonna get any true leader for the Giro anymore.
Who knows, Dombrowski will probably go stagehunting in the high mountains.
Formolo crashed in the ITT and was still feeling th effects of the crash, that explains his por showing. Formolo should be a great superdom for Uran, but with this kind of TT-shape I can't see him getting more than a top 5 on gc...

I would like to see Uran win a GT but not sure it will be this one. He will have to be TT riding at his best to have any hope as his climbing is not usually as good as Nibali or Landa. Uran thinks this is his best chance to win the Giro but he has already had a few good chances but other riders have turned up in much better form like Quintana and Nibali. He sometimes does not have much luck with crashes and illness but that is business as usual for pro cyclists and others suffer the same problems of course. Landa's weakness is the TT but his climbing should give most of the other riders big problems. I think podium at best. Nibali looks the one to beat and knows how to win GTs.

He can do it, why not? It is ust speculation to say that a bad ITT in romandie means a bad ITT in the Giro.He didother years a good ITT in romandie but not a good performance in the mountains, and later he was just below Quintana or Nibali in the mountains.

This year he had a good face in the ITT, he took it easy, but last day he even attacked in the mountains and he didnt lose time, and he is not very good in the bad weather.

Everything can happens.

How the hell did he come 2nd in 2013 Giro then?
I think other way he would have won that Giro to Nibali. And with all the stages made, no the way it was. With that weather Nibali is clearly stronger than Rigo.
Sorry but you have no clue about cycling.

Maybe, but I have followed Uran since his 19 years old.

http://rigouran.blogcindario.com/

That year he had the strengh to win the Giro in other circusntances although Nibali is a superirder and that Giro was superstrong. A team suporting him from the begining and another weather no so extreme. For Nibali that weather was perfect. it is especulate, but the battle would have been different, that way Nibali didnt have rival.

Rigo has had very bad luck with circunstances in the GT when he was ok, last year he had problems with heath and a crash, but anyway he had a weak team once Bambrilla didnt start.

Status för Uran this years giro? Really Hard to guess havent shown much of his potential this year.
We dont know really how is he. Nibali didnt show so much, but he won Oman and he was in shape and level to win Tirreno.

Uran didnt show that level, but he was 10 th in Cataluña and 4th in GP Industria.. and in Romandie he showed in the mountains a better level than Nibali in Trentino or Lieje.

For me is more important if he is not ill like last year and he has luck the first days.

This is the last good ITT fron Urán, but it is from last Tour, he rode le Tour like Contador suffering from the begining to the end and he did 18 sec better than Contador. (so that day the excuse to have rode the Giro it doesnt worth)

After that he hadnt really the motivation in an ITT. It is possible he lost potential or not, but anyway he is not an specialist
It's all about the bike, just like you see now with FDJ.

Of course no. Uran is going to do a very good Giro if he is now healthy and doesnt have problem s with crashin the first week. He is one of the main favourites.

What I meant is that Uran riding at a good level in ITT is not question of 2014.

ITT turned from an important strength into a weakness which won't make things easier for him.

Uran won't even make top 5... one of the most overrated colombians nowadays.
Still funny how so many thought he would crush contador in last years giro ITT ;)

We can bet something if you are so sure.

I dont think he is overated when he is payed 1/12 and Landa 1/2.5 and Uran has been 2 times second and Landa just 3rd...

IMO at the start the main favourite is Nibali. He has won nor just the Giro but the Vuelta and the most important, le Tour, and he has a very strong team.

Second, Valverde, he has been podium of the Tour, above Nibali and other big riders and he has won la Vuelta.

Landa, he demostrated last year he is one of the best climbers of the peloton and he is the leader of SKY.

The next, close to Valverde and Landa, is Uran, above Pozzo, Chaves, Dumoulin, Hesjedal, Majka, Zakarin...

But acording my knowledge and in an subjetive point of view, Uran is going to fight for the victory... to figh doesnt mean the same of his 2 seconds, when Nibali and Quintana were clearly better.

If uran won't get top 5 in this giro; you leave the forum, ok? If uran would finish in second place only 2 minutes behind the winner, i leave this forum...

I think Uran is going to do a good Giro, in Romandie he was just behind the best riders in mountain, and he has a good team to support him in mountain, with Formolo, Dombrowski, Cardoso and Brown, and in flat stages with Navardauskas, Moser and Bettiol
But I don't think he will be on the podium, I see him between 4th and 7th place
What surprises me is why he is so bad in ITTs since the beginning of 2015, I don't understand

it is not a correct bet IMO, becouse lot of things can happen as last year.
I dont win anything of you leave the forum.
But we cant think something.

In Romandie he was training, look at his face at the end of the ITT. and look at his face in the last Giro key tages.

The team told him he could be always the last one in all the races previous to the Giro, but he must perform well on the Giro.

He was top ten in Cataluña becouse he wanted, not for work.
