The young Euskaltel pro has been hit (by a car, I presume) and did not survive, biciciclismo reports. He has been only 23 years old.

Cabedo was perhaps the most promosing talent of the new Euskaltel riders this year, but a lot of injuries prevented him from competing. A horrible ending to a young life... He leaves behind a girlfriend who is also a cyclist, in the Basque women's peloton (I don't know much about his other family).

I had so many hopes set on Cabedo, especially since his great win in that Vuelta a Asturias stage that finished in Oviedo last year.

I don't think so. Such terrible just news travel faster and wider through the internet.
Always painful to see someone being robbed of his life in such a way.
