Orla's studio mob are a bit nervous/anxious and laugh hysterically at things that are not remotely funny.
They sometimes also make the same mistake Gary Lineker does on Match of the Day, ie. getting insufferable when indulging in 'the banter' of talking about their own times as pros.
However, overall I don't suffer the agonies of some on here listening to the GCN/Eurosport commentary, which is now worldwide with the likes of Lance Armstrong and Chris Horner remarking on it.
With GCN's domination what has happened to Phil Liggett? Does anybody employ him anymore? Is a TdF broadcaster going to take him on board?
I fear for the lad........seriously.

Only real annoyances I have with Hatch is pronouncing Drone Hopper like an Italian would do (like, cmon they're English words lol...), and overreacting or being overly concerned over minor things – like some guys 9th in GC drops on a climb and he makes it sound like it's a major race-altering event.

Blythe doesn't add much but he's mostly harmless. McEwen is better talking about what's happening in the race. Both are good analysing the sprints. Lloyd seemingly just takes the piss out of his own career and offers less insight than Blythe.

The Italian is too Italian, a little cartoonish, even. The same goes for the French. It is dreadful to listen to. The former pros are generally good.

The pro commentators feel like they need fill up every second of their air time so they constantly make inane or inaccurate comments.

Liggett, however, is the absolute worst. Initially (decades ago) I thought it was because he was “dumbing it down” for the (at the time) ignorant English speaking audiences. It soon became apparent that he knew NOTHING about racing and over all these years he has made absolutely NO EFFORT at all to educate himself. He was also a massive purveyor of the Armstrong fraud as it lined his personal wallet. He is a despicable little man.

I would rather deal with stalling live streams than listen to that f$@cker ever again.

I love the coverage of cycling that GCN do but Rob Hatch is the worst commentator of the lot. It makes me want to cancel my account with GCN. He is utterly shocking...

I am lucky to speak Spanish and can change the language. If Spanish were not available I would go for the ambient sound or any other language I can’t speak just to not hear that idiot.

Don't know if this is really the thread to post this, but this has really been, as the Americans would say "grinding my gears" Who is the English Cycling pundit commentator who seems to go out of his way to intentionally not use the correct reference for names , there's other examples but i am referring specifically to the Grand tours , and they always refer to "LA Vuelta De Espana" or "LA Vuelta" as the "Tour of Spain" why is this? why do the purposely use the incorrect context?, even on the commentary voiceover for cyannide's video games i'm Galician Spanish and to be honest i find this attitude arrogant and ignorant just as much as i despise Americans or anyone referring to the game of "football" ironically an English term btw, with any other term, i always point to do they mind me using the expression "handegg", and the lack of response imho is very telling

If it’s the former - English speaking world uses Tour de France (almost always) and Giro d’Italia (frequently). What’s wrong with La Vuelta?

I think it's the other way around; the use of English names instead of Spanish names.
