Jaja est propre!

In a clean cycling world I believe Jaja would have done very well.

Unfortunately, as it is, all his actions shout louder than any admission he could make.

Actually, if he ever comes clean, it should be interesting to read his account of his chemical metamorphosis in 1994 following his TdF accident.

Rolf could have kept his job even if he did not admit. First TV2 hinted he had to admit, but when he still did not, or only did so very indirectly, they changed it as a demand and called it his personal business. He was simply to good a commentator to fire.
Still the sports boss said that it was very important for him that Rolf told the truth.

Also danish cycling expert and vice president of the danish journalist association Lars Werge said on danish television that he was sure that Rolf confessed, to be able to keep his job.

This blog: http://www.sporten.dk/cykling/nu-er-rolfs-samvittighed-da-i-hvert-fald-ren
by a danish journalist, also states that the reason for Rolf coming out clean, was to keep his job.

Anyway, this is also interesting: http://www.sporten.dk/cykling/trods-organiseret-doping-rolf-skaffede-selv-epo
Michael Rasmussen is suprised about Rolf stating that he got the doping himself, when he was on Rabobank. Rasmussen say that it was not like that when he was on Rabobank, and he mention the fact that the doctor Leinders also was on Rabobank when Rolf was at the team.

Rasmussen also say that he would wish that Rolf would tell more about what was going on at Rabobank

Its a pity Sorensen doesn't want to help clean up the mess he has been part up. Seems like he is only worried about himself and doesn't really care about the sport.

Weak.

Well, we've gotten the most we could expect from a Rolf confession. He said he would not implicate others and that he got the drugs himself and administered them himself. Obviously, that is not the truth but this was probably what he thought was necessary to keep his job as commentator and continue to be involved in the world of cycling.

He is not part of the "let's clean up cycling" crowd. That is not his business. Furthermore he also stated that he only used epo occasionally, saying he did achieve some of his victories clean. Basically an Armstrong confession: made out of necessity and only delivering a fraction of the truth.

Rolf er ren.... Kommer man til at savne det?

Rolf demands to not be compared to Lance Armstrong, and claims EPO isn't "heavy doping", but blood transfusions is, and he never did any blood transfusions.

Anti-doping Denmark will interview him. Sørensen has however made it clear that he will not name anyone.

Well, if that's his stance, I hope he gets the sack.

Surely anyone calling himself a journalist has to be more committed to cleaning up cycling than this.

Sounds exactly like boogerd's confession, the pressure from the broadcaster he works for is there and the fans joking he is clean and then the half confession. :p

Danish sports union would have preferred if Rolf have talked with Anti doping Denmark, before talking to the media.

Rolf stated yesterday, that he felt sorry for the young clean generation, because of the suspicion people have about the doping. Danish sports union think that the only way Rolf can help the new generation, is by telling what he knows. But yes, in a radio program http://www.sporten.dk/cykling/anti-doping-danmark-rolf-soerensen-skal-vidne Rolf stated there is nothing relevant to tell, and the his doping use was private.

At least he admitted. Not until he'd made the word "ren" mean the exact opposite of what it used to mean, and his apologies were about as sincere and heartfelt as Armstrongs, but he did at least admit he wasn't clean.

Dag Otto Lauritzen and Dag Erik Pedersen still never touched anything, and didn't really see anything either. And if they had admitted to have dabbled a little they would have lost their jobs.

Danish rider Andre Steensen says that more guys than Rolf needs to come out clean. He indicates that he is suspicious when it comes to people who are still in the game, and tell that he experience strange things himself when he do his races..

There can be no doubt he speaks the truth, it is just not that normal that a guy still in the peloton, with a ambition about getting back in to the pro tour, is so open about doping.

I think we should call them: Halfessions

You speak up but you don't come clean. (yes the pun is intended)

How about Confassions? Rolfie also bought races which had nothing to do with being caught up in the Omerta of doping.

For any fan of cycling old enough to remember Rolf Sorensen, and actually watching him race, none of this is new news. The day he grabbed and held Sean Yates by his one and only Maillot Jaune to keep him from reacting to a break, he became a villain of the highest order. Why should any of us care about him now?

Sorry for the self-quote, but

Please recall this statement from Phat Pat McQuaid:

With Sorensen's admission of doping don't we have further proof that Pat's "Anglo-Saxon approach" has won out?

Pat must be hosting a big Anglo-Saxon Dope Fest in Aigle to celebrate.

With the benefit of time, we can now see how Pat was supporting sophisticated doping and EPO use all along.

You just have to speak English, German or Danish as your mother tongue. If so, doping is ok because your birthright comes with some sort of inherited approval.

Dave.
