I’ve got some inside information that Remco is starting on Sunday. Although that’s the plan if all goes well this week.

Can’t say it’s 100% certain of course but it’s one of my closest friends who talks a lot with riders on different teams for his job. When I said it this afternoon he didn’t believe it but now he just texted to say the rumor is true. So I guess he asked around.

So more a yes then a no for now.

(And while seeing the date right now, no April 1 joke)
I think every cycling fan is hoping that he will announce his participation asap. Thats what cycling needs: The best cyclists doing the best races.

Also on a side note, what don't they do the Muur anymore like they did back in 2017 - 19? That climb in my opinion is the most iconic in Flanders, and even though it came far from the finish, it was great to have it back. It also added a interesting dynamic as that's where Phillipe Gilbert got away in a split back in 2017, before riding away up the Oude Kwaremont with 50 km to go.

Remco is strong enough to mess someones plan up.
Remco is an exciting rider. Since no long climb on the menu, I want to see him take the first initiative to attack before Pogi . He should not worry to stay in front since Pogi is game in working together. For him to win though is to drop Pogi since two-up sprint between them is not 50-50.

I think I just lost quite a number of braincells just watching that clip
You would've had to lose a few to be willing to click play, too. I know I've grown numb to that genre.

Imagine living in a land where the King thinks a big WWE event belongs next to his White Castle and held on the land's sacred 250 year anniversary.
I'm drinking tequila now to detach myself from the video and the tale I just wrote about.

Flandres has become a farce: Watts per Kilo Merchant makes cobble eaters look like amateurs on some mole hills. Eternally Angry Rick should finally be happy if El Fatco saves cyclismo on Sunday!

I’ve been practicing my hand gestures for Thursday if he doesn’t cooperate with me. He’ll finally see how ridiculous it is and stop doing it from now on.
I never understood this. Many riders make that gesture if they want to work together? Being angry want they don’t cooperate, that’s indeed ridiculous

PR stunt, team mind games or a big fat envelope under the table? We shall see on Sunday!

Zak Dempster had ruled out his presence in Flanders on sporting grounds.
“Of course, as a Belgian, he has always wanted to ride the Tour of Flanders. Whether or not he’s a cobbles specialist, it’s a special race. But the main reason Evenepoel joined this team is because he wants to race Tadej Pogacar at the Tour de France and try to beat him. It’s our job now to build the best plan, one we all believe can make that happen. We don’t think riding the Tour of Flanders contributes to that at this moment.”

Evenepoel joining (but I guess its still wishful thinking) could change the race dynamics quite a bit. MVDP will have a hard time bringing back Pogacar once he has a 15-20s lead. But Evenepoel and MVDP (and possibly van Aert) together might be a different story.

Remco in the race just increases Pogacar's chances even more. Remco will work with Pogacar and MVP, this will allow Pogacar to work less and Remco is so aero that MVP will probably eat more wind, recovering less between hills.
